Some say Greg should go to a P5 HC. Kiffin going to FAU is a bit of wake up call? He was HC in the NFL, Tenn and USC.Interesting ... had thought he would have gotten another higher caliber opportunity ... thought his 'rehab' with Alabama would have set him up for a better 'next move'
There are just some small chances that this impacts Rutgers -
(1.) makes FAU potentially a more interesting possibility for the talented - but just short of UF/FSU/Miami - recruits that might look to RU - impact -? marginal
(2.) creates another 'drain' on the OC pool - somebody replaces Kiffin, somebody replaces that guy ... - impact - ? marginal - one time - and if Ash has already got his guy - no impact
How many Bama transfers will he get????Interesting ... had thought he would have gotten another higher caliber opportunity ... thought his 'rehab' with Alabama would have set him up for a better 'next move'

Alabama isn't swimming in our poolInteresting ... had thought he would have gotten another higher caliber opportunity ... thought his 'rehab' with Alabama would have set him up for a better 'next move'

More likely they are the only place that would have him. Even here they walked away for a bit before coming back to the tableDon't know - but - In a way, this may just validate some of the Kiffin nay-sayers (the ones who might have some say at more major schools) Kiffin still smells like he is questing for the quick fix - I mean who thinks he is at FAU any longer than it takes to get a better deal? ... still causes some to sit there and say "uh ... about his maturity ... don't think we can trust it" ... "seems to need to work on his patience & sound judgment"
NO - but eventually the 'cascade' effect percolates out in all directions - somebody makes a move that opens a spot for somebody else - and so on and so on - but as I said - the impact on RU is likely minimal especially if Ash is already on his 'short list' right nowAlabama isn't swimming in our pool
And Howard Schnellenberger was no Howard Schellenberger by the time he got to FAU either.Lane Kiffin is no Howard Schnellenberger.

might be ... suspect that even more places than imagined simply have said "pass - not worth the risk" ... "not worth the anxiety of wondering when his actions will create a mess that has to be cleaned up"More likely they are the only place that would have him. Really - and the comparison to Schiano is not a good one either. Sure Kiffin has had more head coaching jobs in College, but none of the are remembered as particularly successful. Schiano had one long stop for a major rebuild that was quite successful. They have both had flameouts in the NFL.Are you serious? He has a ton of baggage. Only a school like FAU would be willing to give him another chance.
Among her assets is a U of Florida diplomaWhy would he listen to her?

Looks high maintenance. I could not afford the tanning oil budget alone.Among her assets is a U of Florida diploma
Gotta think his wife had some say in the choice of destination...
On their way, they filed earlier this year. Did not realize that.I believe that they are divorced.........
And like a Bobby Petrino (pre-second stint with 'Ville) he won't be there for long. Some say Greg should go to a P5 HC. Kiffin going to FAU is a bit of wake up call? He was HC in the NFL, Tenn and USC.

Schiano has had success at being a HC. Kiffin is going to FAU to prove he can finally do the job. Some say Greg should go to a P5 HC. Kiffin going to FAU is a bit of wake up call? He was HC in the NFL, Tenn and USC.

Come on guy this is beyond a stretch, especially number 1.
Kiffin will remain Alabama's offensive coordinator throughout the College Football Playoff, Tide head coach Nick Saban confirmed Monday, similar to what former defensive coordinator Kirby Smart did last season after taking the Georgia head-coaching job. - ESPNWill he go to FAU right away, or coach in the two NC games with Alabama?

Rutgers would not allow this type of nonsense.Kiffin will remain Alabama's offensive coordinator throughout the College Football Playoff, Tide head coach Nick Saban confirmed Monday, similar to what former defensive coordinator Kirby Smart did last season after taking the Georgia head-coaching job. - ESPN
Of course, for a fallen star like Kiffin these jobs aren't meant to be anything long term. It's meant to be a way station to prove yourself a little and enhance your career prospects. If he wins 8 games, its two years tops and he'll "be back"
Well, looks like FAU will lose 250-0 to UT-San Antonio, UNC-Charlotte, Old Dominion, and their big rival FIU.Kiffin will remain Alabama's offensive coordinator throughout the College Football Playoff, Tide head coach Nick Saban confirmed Monday, similar to what former defensive coordinator Kirby Smart did last season after taking the Georgia head-coaching job. - ESPN

It should be pointed out, however, that Al Golden did NOT stick around for Miami's bowl game. [roll]Similar to what a lot of coaches have done and are doing.
