OT: Maryland’s Transfer Class

It's not the engaged folks that post here, it's the other 450,000 alumni who could give a shit about RU sports or Rutgers in general.
Spot on comment that has been going on for decades.

Irrelevant.....3 players followed from Texas A&M and they lost Rodney Rice and Jacobi Gillespie, who were elite 3 point shooters. Add in Derek Queen going to the NBA and Julian Reese graduating and Maryland is much more likely to be around 10th to 12th right now in the B1G.

Myles Rice was a supposed HUGE signing by Indiana out.of Washington State and was a disappointment for Indiana last year. He is now at Maryland, maybe he's better with Buzz Williams vs Mike Woodson, which would have to be a YES, but not a given at all.
Massive turnover of rosters is everywhere, especially with a coaching change. I think the OP's point is that Maryland has susbtantial NIL to get 5 high-major transfers, while RU is shopping at NJIT and GWU.

Yeah OP no shit was made public six months back about Maryland whale donor $10M

No whale, no transfers anybody likes

Who the **** cares anymore

I'm not giving them dick

Once again, Maryland quickly lands a transfer class that will help them succeed, while we have to settle for scraps. The only difference: Money.

"Only difference is money" - pretty funny. They have a tradition of better basketball and a legit coach. Our program has become a laughingstock.

C'mon, he's not legit, and he's becoming somewhat of a b&ll sh%t artist also.
He was legit when he was taking us to NCAA Tournaments wasn’t he? Fanbase hasn’t provided the support to maintain a tournament caliber team. Losing Cam, Cliff, and the forward took its toll. He has to BS because he can’t say the fanbase isn’t providing the support.

But we can't.
So this fantasy land you post about 15 times a day isn't happening.

Need a program and system that attempts to succeed without elite.
That in of itself is a fallacy. You want to win without the players. But That isn’t practical anymore because players will leave once they develop. Even Lathan Left and he has to develop a lot more.

I don’t think tradition matters as much with NIL

Kevin Willard complained he didn’t think Maryland had enough money and left for Villanova and Maryland has more money than we do… so there’s that

I would think bye now that fans understood under a NIL environment Rutgers simply can't successfully compete in the B1G Ten. Lack of finances results in lack of talent, mediocre won/loss records and the inability to attract better coaching staffs. The trend is downward and there is no super rich person/company to dig Rutgers out of the morass. Its better for fans to enjoy the spring /summer weather and hope a miracle happens in the fall in regard to players transferring every year in order to get a higher monetary reward.Wishful thinking on my part.

But thinking were getting an influx of new additonal $4m in donations next year (and every year going forward) is practical?

Building year? You played yourself Hawk no such thing as “building” in CBB, it’s rare. Build as in actually build with other players not Freshman/sophomores. Especially at Rutgers.
With the transfer portal and nil I don't think you can build a program over two to three years with the same lids staying put and commiting for the long haul. I think you have to basically start from scratch each off season.
