The wife and I currently have carpet in our dining room and are looking to upgrade to hardwood. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations of hardwood flooring contractors in the Monmouth County area. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Five Star Hardwood Floors out of Neptune. Owner's name is Erik Medal. Guys are excellent. Had them refinish 2500 square feet of oak flooring. They do excellent work and do large commercial jobs too.

Gorsegner Brothers is good. Refinished all of our hardwood whole first level plus installed new stair treads and hardwood in upstairs hallway to replace carpet. http://www.gorsegnerbrothers.com/

Had a neighbor down the street that was not happy with them.

We have used Ron the Floor Guy out of Neptune City on several projects and we have been very happy. When we were not happy with something, he was right on top of it and fixed it to our satisfaction.

Th Monmouth bench mob will come over to break in your new hardwood floor once installed.

Gorsegner bros by far the best. Had them do 2 houses, pure pros and experts in both new and repairs.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations! The dining room isn't huge so I'm hoping it could be done in one day if all goes well.

@rurichdog if I was handy, I would do it myself lol. I don't want a 6 hour project turning into a 6 day project :)

it really is an easy DIY project, but I don't blame you if you want to save time. Depending on whether you want to stain, they might have to come back a second day. If you do a clear coat instead of a stain, they might be able to install, sand, and apply the clear coat in a day.

Depending on which company you use, you may need a carpenter to replace the base molding that runs around your dining room. I know a great carpenter who is not terribly expensive who can do this. He was the one who originally recommended Ron the Floor Guy to us. They did our living room, dining room and kitchen in our main house. The support under our 1906 home was really messed up, and they did a fantastic job. The carpenter custom made the base molding to match the rest of the house at a fraction of the cost the lumberyard was going to charge us to make custom moldings.
