Anybody have any recommendations for a mortgage lender. We have should be getting prime rate on everything (based on credit scores and income), and may be going with Jersey Mortgage, who have great interest rates, but I have heard they can have 'hidden costs' at closing so I'm a little concerned. Looking to buy a house for about $400K and possibly looking to refinance condo and rent it out - we have about 35% equity in it. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.

As an insurance guy that has to deal with mortgage companies all the time, EASILY the worst company to deal with is Ocwen mortgage. Easily.

Again, this is strictly from my insurance side. Service calls have to be elevated twice before reaching someone in the US, and each time the entire situation has to be repeated. Also can't get direct numbers or extensions so if I have to call back, asking for the same rep doesn't work, etc.

Again, strictly from my insurance working side.

REALLY? Our own NJHawk is the man from what I hear. His ad is on right on the top of this page (or the top of the football forum)...checking him out is a must... Greg Ginn

Go on to bankrate.com and find the broker/bank with the best combination of rates and points. I've done that twice for refinancing with no problems whatsoever.
