Down to 4 drivers with a chance to win the Championship....

Jeff Gordon
Kevin Harvick
Kyle Busch
Martin Truex Jr.

The sentimental favorite is of course Gordon who'll be competing in his last race but how cool would it be if New Jersey's Truex won the whole thing. adding another feather in NJ Sport's 2015 cap. IIRC, he's from the same hometown as former TE Clark Harris.

This whole playoff system is a complete joke. Kyle Bush misses 11 races and he's possible going to win a championship? Brian France has destroyed the sport. Exactly why tracks are tearing down bleachers. France St is probably rolling over in his grave.

I'm going to the Turkey Derby at Wall Stadium and eating my Maryland tickets. One of my favorite live events. There is another Truex racing at Wall this year. I think its his cousin.

What a strange Chase for NASCAR. They almost blew it with the Kansas race and then the Talladega debacle of an ending, fans were ready to tune out forever. But Matt Kenseth saved the sport, and JG's emotional win with a Dale Jr. win yesterday and order is seeming to fall back ... as a Jimmie fan really don't like this new playoff format but it's dramatic. NASCAR has a chance to do something great or leave fans with a bad taste in their mouth depending on how the race at Homestead goes down. I'll be rooting for the 24, then Truex. Hope Busch wins it before Harvick though. And the Penske guys crashing won't be too bad either ;)

I think with Gordon's career coming to an end people are finally realizing what he's done for the sport. Well, that and with Logano there isn't enough hate around for both of them.

Yes knight7 Stafford Twp though different sections. Clark is from Manahawkin & Truex is from Mayetta. Remember watching Sr race @ wall.

Haven't really followed it since about 5 years ago but would like to see Harvik win again if not Truex, Harvik is married to a "joisey girl"

Spent so many years rooting against Gordon, but now rooting for him. Will not be disappointed if its Truex though. I can't stand Harvick or Busch.
If those morons didn't change the point system, Gordon would have won 7 championships, just like Petty and Earnhardt Sr.

The old point system sucked. Rusty Wallace had 10 wins in one season and lost to Dale who had 2. No thanks.

Anyway was a big Rusty fan back in the day. Once he retired I no longer watch every lap of every race but check in from time to time.

That's the tough part about NASCAR. Once your favorite guy retires it's hard to switch. It not like a team sport where you just keep rooting for the uniform.

No other sport is like that.

Always an Earnhardt fan, so that was a great year! :) Rusty was Mr. DNF. I was fine with adding in more points for a win, but the Chase is dumb and the newer elimination system is even dumber.

I agree with the retirement issue. I still have Dale Jr., but I really don't care about anyone else. What you described happened to me regarding tennis. I was a huge Agassi fan, but since he retired, I bared even watch the grand slams.

Rusty was Mr DNF that year because Dale crashed him about 4 times including Dayton where Rusty was upside down.

I can see Tennis close to that. But part of that is finding brilliance. Golf doesn't have that problem. You may have a favorite but if you like the game you follow several players during the year.

nascar must be doin something right. we got a thread goin about the chase on a football forum

Actually NASCAR is hurting big time. Attendance is way off at every track. They made changes for the big TV money and screwed their loyal fan base. Kinda like Flood at Rutgers

HA! HA! Yeah, Dale Sr. liked to wreck Rusty and Terry Labonte, poor guys. :)

Yes, agreed on watching "brilliance". I did enjoy watching Federer in his prime because it felt like you were watching the best ever and you had to appreciate that. I'm hoping Spieth goes on a similar run!

Really? I didn't know Delana was from NJ. Chrissy Nueman is a NJ girl also.
