I watched the video with the sound off, so I'll say this knowing I will get ridiculed but I like their design better than ours. The numbers for UCF, while I don't like the carved out point in the upper corner, I do like the squared edges better and I think the overall design is sleeker. Just one man's opinion.
You couldn't give Michigan State's numbers to another school in the Big Ten. Had to go to a school in the sun belt.I will probably be called out for posting this...but I think this is the uniform I was hoping Nike would come up with for Rutgers.
The UCF unis strike a nice balance between a modern and traditional look. Our new unis are definitely an improvement over the Flood era unis. I think I would like the new RU unis more if we used a numeral font like UCFs and stuck with, or had helmets similar to the Flood era helmets.
Yea I'm not trying to be dickish about it, but I would say those are vastly superior to ours. Then again they get to have an almost totally unique color scheme whereas we have one of the most common.
Main color is not black; it's anthracite.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:Players will love the all black home unies in September when it's 100 degrees on the field.
Lol. Dark salmon.Main color is not black; it's anthracite.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Agreed. The jersey itself is boring and the horse logo on the shoulder is TERRIBLE. The only thing I like better is the helmet stripe. I wish we still had that and kept our silver helmets somehow. My only beef about our new unis.People really like the UCF ones better? Um... okay.
The only thing about that jersey is the stupid "pegasus" on the shoulder. Talk about a generic design. Other than that is just the numbers, and all they show you in the whole video is the 5. Not better than ours. Some people just like black, which is fine, but thats all it is. Ours are much nicer, and better designed.
Well we like them, and it is just the beginning as if you listen to the video, you will hear that these uniforms will likely not make it past next year as we will evolve from here.
HC Scott Frost has a very close relationship with Phil Knight with Nike and this is simply his first year so Nike wanted to put something different on the field for UCF this coming season.
I hope you are referring to the overall uniform design as generic rather than the Pegasus logo. You would be right if that is the case.
That Pegasus logo is our academic logo and 100% unique to UCF. Some like it, some don't, though it is part of our original history and thus was incorporated into the design.
Regarding the numbers, those too are uniquely UCF and a new part of our custom font that was originally designed in our previous rebranding several years back. Nike just took the alpha characteristics and incorporated the numerals.

Good luck next year. Go Knights!
Oh, and I do particularly like your new train-face knight head that looks oddly similar to the logo our rivals mod has used for years.....
Thanks for posting the link... I like your number set. Its a cool design.
I actually like our knight head better. Yours is more cartoony with the eye. Ours is more of a pure logo.
I was saying this in another thread. Everyone is criticizing our new knight head, but we are the knights, and I have not seen any that I like better than our new one.
Stop comparing the two. I think they both look great and serve each school's purpose.

[roll]Wrong. Godammit with this everyone gets a medal nonsense. This is a zero sum game. There is a winner and a loser. You must choose...
The armor helmets were simply awful.Agreed. The jersey itself is boring and the horse logo on the shoulder is TERRIBLE. The only thing I like better is the helmet stripe. I wish we still had that and kept our silver helmets somehow. My only beef about our new unis.
