The actress was best known for playing the role of Lois Lane in the first season of "The Adventures of Superman" in 1952,after which Noel Neill picked up the role for the remainder of the show's run in the 50's.

She was pretty.
But everybody looked pretty 40s/50s
Even plain girls glowed with nice hair, smiles and fresh faces.
Not just celebs either

Noel Neill passed at age 95 in 2016.

Coates portrayed Lois Lane because Noel Neill, who had played Lane in serials, wasn't available. When Coates signed on to a different production because there was a question whether the show would be renewed, Neill was brought in.

Great Caesars Ghost! RIP. She was a little more aloof and elegant than Neil’s Lois Lane.
Agreed.

Watch the first two seasons, very serious, not campy….Lois was a stern character.
By the last year it was borderline comedic.

When I read up on the two Lois Lane's, I found that during WWII, Betty Grable's pin up poster was #1.

#2? Noel Neill. I guess she was considered hot stuff back then.
