As we enjoy the start of the men's team at 4-0, does anyone know when was the last time the women's team was 0-4?

Dodd is in a tough spot right now. Womens bb will hit rock bottom this year and he will have to make a change. Football just went through the worst season in decades and the jury is out on the new hire. Mens bb is showing signs of life, thank God. Dodd's talents will be tested to say the least.

Our ex-QB Dodd is playing football in Italy. Not sure what he has to do with women's bball?

4-0 is a nice start but it means nothing if we cannot win in the conference.

sorry about the error, I meant hobbs and somehow got dodd. will have to check better before hitting the post reply

??? Many teams won national championships in basketball without winning their conference. Going to the tournament is all that matters.

You misunderstood. I am not suggesting winning the conference I am suggesting just winning games in the conference itself. We have not had many B1G wins. Unless this team can go 500 in the conf we are not making the tourney either.

Sorry you are right misunderstood.

Here is the thing with the conference games, we really lucked out this year. The five worst teams in the league besides us-PSU, Northwestern, Illinois, Minnesota, and Nebraska-ALL FIVE-are at home. Plus two out our three home and homes are PSU and Northwestern. All seven of those games are winnable.

Agree completely. Seriously if they can go 500 in conf and keep up the OCC play we may have a shot at the tourney.

Let's not set up unrealistic expectations. We won 7 games last year. If we can go 9-4 or 10-3 out of conference, and win 4-5 conference games, that's a very strong season for year 1 of the new regime.

It is unrealistic at this point to even suggest we go 9-9 in conference. That would have us winning all 7 winnable games, and 2 other games as well. I don't want to say there is no way in hell that's going to happen, but there no way in hell that's going to happen.

I agree with you...some are setting wild expecations. I love this 4-0 start and they would be 3-1 or 2-2 last year at this time but we have seen similar starts against cupcake city in the past and then once we get into conference play we find out how hard it is to pick up league games

I haven't been following CBB or the B1G as closely as I used to. Wouldn't 9-4 OOC and 6-12 B1G or some combination close to .500 be a major accomplishment? It seems to me after the past several years that'd be a great building block.

Did any RU teams this year other than Women's soccer make the postseason...and other than wrestling is it likely others will? Maybe lax?

yes..this team has a legit shot at 11-2 OOC although I think one slipup will happen and they finish 10-3....6 conference wins still is tough in this conference but getting 4 or 5 wwill make this an excellent first season for Pikiell

I predict the Rutgers mens Bball team will be 13-2 going into Big Ten play.(I predict ;losses to Miami and Satan Hall...and wins vs FDU, Fordham, Stony Brook among others)

If I am right>>> 3 B10 wins and we will be 16-14 for a winning season. When was the last time an RU team had that kind of turnaround?

Yes it will.

Haven't followed MBB in over a decade. Is there a good chance of over 12 wins for the season? I'd consider that a minor miracle.

Team could reasonably win about 15 or 16 this season. If they can find outside range even a few more wins are possible.
