OT: Rutgers to develop sports program for disabled students

To repeat what I said on the thread from the RU issues board:

1: This is wonderful
2: It should be in the recreation department funded by student fees.
3: This is another example of our friends in Trenton telling us what and how to do things but providing no new funding.

Back to point 2. We should not be adding any new programs in athletics for a long time absent a major endowment gift for the purpose. Athletics should not support any program that is not a NCAA & B1G sanctioned sport.

When the athletic department is taking millions in student fees and state money these type of things are going to happen.

Hard to cut the amount of student fees and university monies going to the Athletic department if they continue to make these sorts of demands.
The legislature does this for many things not athletic. Required programs with no money backing it up. All while cutting overall appropriations.
There is as much "State" money going to our football program as the one in Happy Valley. That is faculty union and newspaper columnist nonsense.
