The late and obnoxiously great Mr. Kinison used to do a genius routine on famine and hunger concerning those living in the desert.. As he so astutely pronounced, those living there are hungry and thirsty because of one thing.. Its a frigging desert! Nobody should live there..
Simple but true. Moore ,Oklahoma would have been fodder for ol' Sam had he not died tragically...In the desert. .Tornadoes seem to spend their winters figuring out how to drop the hammer on Moore seemingly every spring.. They will bypass Okie City which is ten times bigger to crush Moore. Happened again yesterday for what seems to have become an annual event. At a certain point maybe they need to move the town out of the G4 flight path? Grapes of Wrath redux? Sam I miss you..

One of my favourites bits of all time, Mr. Felonious!

Might I recommend watching "Tommy Tiernan Mass" on youtube? The 5:56 version. Not for those who are offended by irreverence or bad language.

I remember watching Dangerfield's 9th Annual Young Comedians Special on HBO in high school -- actually quite an amazing lineup.

Bob Nelson, Rita Rudner, Bob Saget, Yakov Smirnoff, Harry Basil, Louis Anderson, Richie Gold and others. Some of the best talent from the 80s.

About 25 years ago, just barely beyond the peak of Rita Rudner's popularity, Mrs4Real and I saw her at a club in Orlando. There were 2 shows that night, 7:00 and 10:00. We opted for the later one, because we had to drive down from Daytona.

Apparently the first show was packed. The second one, not so much. There were 8 of us in the whole place. The staff moved us all to a single table in front of the stage just before Rita came out, looked at us and said, "Ooh... this must be the intimate crowd."

She did her whole set sitting on the edge of the table. It was fabulous.

Sam was awesome and that skit will always be hilarious...

All these years later me and my friends still do some of his stuff
yelling at each other...

"We have deserts in America, we just don't live in 'em, asshole!!" OMG, that's unbelievable.

I also lose it every time he pretends to take the guy by the neck (at about the 1:45 mark) and shows him the sand. Priceless.

Great minds
