OT: Savage is in for Houston

Pitt ruined Savage.

Rutgers actually!

Greg schiano's stupidity in believing a the idiots offensive coordinator almost ruined Tom Savage.
Chase Dodd cannot hold a candle to this man on his worst day.

And most on this board took sides against Savage and believed in Dodd. When Savage came here there was only one receiver on the team that
ever caught a single pass in college. So pea brain Gary
took that one and only receiver and put him at QB and sometimes
at wide out. Then Tom transferred out, rather than be
Dodd's back up, Gary tried to block him from going to a big East team.
The problem, in my opinion, is that Gary preferred Chas because he
fell in love with his blond curl's, not unlike this year when
the coach chose Laviano because the 28 year old fell
in love with Chris's hair style.

Normally we here tend to blister those who transfer out (Mike Rosario for one) but in Savage's case we had to agree with his decision to save his football health.

In all fairness, the situation was far more complex than that. Just things on public record- new OC for Tommy's sophomore season, switch to a more spread oriented offense, the line was as bad as this year, Tommy was playing hurt from the foot injury, and that's just the public obvious stuff.

I'd never have imagined someone with Tom's college career would be in this position. I couldn't be any more happier for him. I hope he continues to shine in the league.

It is hard to believe that Tom Savage committed to Rutgers. RU usually doesn't get the blue chippers.

Savage didn't even look right when he was playing his last games. He looked like a zombie dropping back - like he didn't even know what he was doing. I think he was a little shell shocked. Dodd and Savage took hits differently. Dodd was small and light. He would get knocked off his feet and take off into the air like lint. Savage was big and absorbed everything. Kind of like dropping a lab or a spider off the Empire State Building. The spider will blow over to the United Nations and gently come to rest on illegally parked car of Zambian official. The lab goes straight down and turns into a street pizza. Savage was better than Dodd but he was a real mess his last weeks behind that OL. Nobody should say that's an excuse because Giants beat NE twice hitting Brady. Hitting QBs a lot takes them down more often than not.

I have so been waiting for TS to get his chance at Houston. Hopefully now they'll let him run with it. Too bad they wasted all of that money on that other chump.

Yep, there's a lot of misinformation in this thread. Let's not rehash the past, let's be happy for TS that he's finally making it.

And in the spirit of it all:

Would Savage have survived here if the targeting rule was in place during his stay? I remember him more for being out due to concussions than for other injuries.

And now we know why! This kid drove several hours from Pa, to watch practices to get a head start on things,
before he was even on the team, wasn't even enrolled. He gets all American honors his
rookie year, and gets focked. and we thought Sandusky was bad.
