This guy blames literally every sports related situation on racism. Today when asked why Jason Garret kept his job Stephen A said its because he's "buddy buddy" with Jerry Jones, before explaining that black coaches don't have those types of relationships with the owners. In September this clown said tht Chip Kelly's racism was the reason behind the personnel changes made in august. Even though black players were replaced by other black players. When a 49ers player (I can't remember his name) retired this offseason due to the concussion concerns Stephen A's theory was that he was only able to retire because he's white, and will be able to get a job outside of sports.

I'm sick of this clown, and just about all espn employees. When Richard Sherman went on a rant about how the "black lives matter movement" has to support all black lives, even in black on black violence, Michael Smith and Jamele Hill said it was very disappointing to hear.

Racism still exists and it's unfortunately always going to be a problem but people with no credibility that go on tv in front of huge audiences shouldn't be allowed to spew this nonsense about coaches.

I've found lately that the people crying racism and using as a tool to instill fear mostly in the public as well as manipulate them to fit their agenda's are usually the biggest racists of them all.

I don't even care for the word because it's been thrown around so often and in so many different ways that it's truly lost its meaning amidst the onslaught of media minds tossing it around to explain things away that don't even involve race.

Here's the reason I don't get wound up about this stuff...

I have no idea who this person is.

I have long maintained that not listening to sports talk radio will give you back valuable hours of your life and reduce your blood pressure.

Marvin Lewis and Mike Tomlin wont complain given their tenures related to success, especially Marvin Lewis who hasn't won a playoff game in his 12 years there. Tomlin did win a Super bowl though! If Jason Garrett is buddy/buddy with Jerry Jones- who cares! It is Jerry Jones' right to keep WHOEVER he wants! He writes the checks! ESPN hires plenty of former African American athletes as analysts so not sure what he is complaining about there.

What about Jim Tomsula? and Mike Pettine? Ken Whisenhunt? who each got 1 and 2 and less than 2 years respectively- no one is complaining that they got hosed!

I like Smith because he's entertaining.

True story: I once sold him a cordless telephone when I worked at a major electronics retailer in high school. He wanted to make sure that the model he bought did NOT have a caller ID display on the actual phone (didn't mind if it was on the base unit).

His reason? He liked to keep the phone by him but was concerned that if someone called while he had a lady friend over that they would recognize the name/number of the caller.

He went so far as to making me open the box and test it out before he even bought it.

That's Screamin' A. Smith for ya......

To OP: You lost me at "literally".

To all: To opine that racism exists does not make one a racist.

SAS did call for Marvin Lewis to be fired after they lost to SD a couple years back or was that last year against Indy. I'm losing track of ML's playoff failures.

Helpful hint from a Bengals fan: It doesn't matter. Except 2005 (when Palmer went down on the first play of the game) they're all the same. 2009 is the same as 2011 is the same as 2012-2015. And yes, I'm already lumping Saturday's game against the Steelers in there.

The only person who doesn't think Marvin Lewis should be fired is the owner.

Steven a Smith plays the race card.he;s a tool.

Wish someone had asked him why the Giants got rid of Coughlin but kept Reese.

today Mayweather also played the race card..

Mayweather: McGregor and Rousey are proof racism still exists in combat sports

I didn't hear Smith (last time I heard him he was on air with his buddy Mark Levin) but I always liked the guy. Not sure I agree with his recent claims but I would take him more as a boisterous Ali than pocket picking Sharpton

No way is this meant as an insult but all the names listed above except Jerry Jones are foreign to me. When I watch a FB game on ESPIN I mute most of the time. As the announcers are wrong ~50% of the time and they all spew an agenda, which is most non truths.
That said stop listening to these blow hard, who all just want to be heard and facts just get in the way.

Mayweather is right. Racism still exists in sports but it's not playing a factor in every single coaching decision like espn try's to say.

Doubt it in the professional ranks all they care about is winning, not where you are from.

About time we get a black racist sport radio host. There's been hundreds of white ones. America cant handle one black racist?

The definition of racist needs to be changed, we are all racists. It's part of our dna. Please, just try not to be an effing bigot.

To me his high highest crime might be suggesting anyone should care about a regular season NBA game.

a) old news

b) the fact that this man EVER got a job in sports on TV was one thing...the fact that he STILL has a job on TV is a complete joke

Indeed. SAS is a giant douche, but this thread is turrible.

Can't argue with this sentiment (I grew up playing basketball for hours on end, daily, all year long, so it's not about that...love the sport).

Instead of Stephen A. Smith, you should listen to Stephen B. Smith. So much more enjoyable.
