He dropped out of high school to sign with the Brooklyn Dodgers at 16 in 1944,hitting a home run the following year to become the youngest-and still the youngest-player ever to homer.He was the last player to play during WWII.
Though he also played with the Cubs and the Phillies,he was not their old living player.That distinction is still belonging to 99 year old Bobby Shantz.The oldest living Dodger is now 94 year old Bob Lillis,who started in 1958,after the move from Brooklyn.

Thanks for letting us know. I remember Bobby Shantz from his days with the Yankees -- he was a lefthanded pitcher who fielded his position very well. Earlier in his career, he had been rookie of the year with the Philadelphia A's.

So now there is no one left who played for the Brooklyn Dodgers. That's to be expected,but it makes me sad anyway.

Kind of a follow up trivia question.

Mel Ott was the youngest player to hit a MLB home run and then be selected to the HOF.
Who was second youngest?
Hint: Modern player - post 1970

There are several Brooklyn Dodgers left.It's just that Lillis is older than all of them:Fred Kipp,Jim Gentile,Bob Aspromonte,and Sandy Koufax.

Another age related HR question. I'm pretty sure I remember this correctly.

Only four players in MLB history have hit home runs in their teens, 20s, 30s and 40s.
Name them

Remember Tommy with the Brooks.

Aside from Koufax, I definitely remember Aspromonte -- his brother Ken also played in the majors, right -- and Jim Gentile went on to be a power hitter for the Baltimore Orioles.

Bump on the trivia question;

We already have two correct answers: Ty Cobb and Rusty Staub.
Who are the other two?
One of them is very easy.
