Odd story. Trump stated "how's Joe Paterno doing? We're gonna bring that back, right?"

Huh!!Then post his speech his campaign says he was referring to bringing back his statue.

He clearly had no idea what he was talking about. Someone on this staff must of fed him the line and he screwed it up. All I can say is, Ugh.

Which means he also has no idea why the statue was taken down in the first place, he doesn't know who Gerry Sandusky is, he's never heard of Second Mile and has no idea that in his attempt to pander to Penn State fans he managed to offend pretty much everyone else.

And he tried to rally Penn State fans at a rally in Pittsburgh having more Pitt fans in attendance.
I hate politics and politicians and their pandering.

The current leader among Republicans not only says things like "wages are too high" and wants to tax your Iphone 35% and says racist comment after racist comment and went bankrupt 4 times but also...

Wants to build a statue of a rapist protector.

How anyone could vote for Drumpf is beyond the pale.

The whole thing can be summed up in one word: awkward. A politician is going to pander, but he sure picked an odd way to go about it.

FWIW, Trump's aware of the scandal. He's opined on it before.

FWIW #2, there are more Penn State alums in Pittsburgh than Pitt alums, so the fact that he made the statement there is irrelevant.

Trump has always been a Paterno supporter. I don't think it was fed to him

Trump supported Paterno so much he called for Paterno's football program to be suspended. I guess Trump hadn't heard yet that the janitor didn't see anything, Mcqueary changed his story, blah, blah, blah...

I imagine there are more folks on this board who would rather hear Trump speak at RU graduation that the current POTUS . Please tell me that's my imagination.

FWIW #2 couldn't be further from the truth. There are 74,800 Pitt alumni living in Allegheny County. There are 28, 381 PSU alumni living in Allegheny County.

There is one or two, they just scream the loudest.

Don't worry, if Obama says something good about RU football the loudest "We are TTFP" chant will come from the CE board

That didn't even make sense. You need new writers or something.

TTFP is done. Don't speak that stupid term Fliid made up. I hate Penn State more than any other school but that term is so freaking gay. Call them whatever you want Pedd, State Penn but lose the TTFP as fast as FAMILY

The figures that I quoted came from both schools alumni association website a.

I saw that. I'd like to see the numbers for Pittsburgh proper, rather than the county, but they would presumably be close to the same ratio. I'm no message board tough guy; I can admit when I'm wrong. That's what I get for using weak sources, ha.

I always ask Pitt fans how Paterno is doing. Usually get a free drink.
