Taste and Odor Issues – Raritan System
New Jersey American Water is aware of the changes in the taste and odor of our water reported by customers in our Raritan System and surrounding areas. Please refer to the list below. We are investigating and continuing to sample throughout our system. We will also be flushing hydrants overnight in an effort to help clear the system, which may result in low pressure and/or discoloration for customers. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear.
We thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this issue. We will provide updates as they become available on Thursday.
