Partly an homage to Patrick's scream. Also seemed appropriate since most of us here have had our hearts ripped out over the last few weeks. It is Mayan Eddie, after all.
As an aside, the new Iron Maiden album is awesome. This is not your 80s metal. An 18 minute piano driven epic! Huh?! IM was always known for interesting subject matter, like a few years ago dramatically capturing the tragic fate of Passchendaele. This new song, Empire Of The Clouds, about the R101 Airship Disaster, was written by singer Bruce Dickinson (a modern day Renaissance Man - licensed commercial pilot, world class fencer, even speaks French, but not in Russian). He has flown the band around in a 757 for the last few tours. This next tour, BD's going to pilot a 747. The chap is pretty bad-ass.
Even if it's not in your wheelhouse, give it a shot. By mid-song, the infectious Whoa-oh--oh-OH-OH! on The Red And The Black should have you chanting along in your car.
