There is a 'deal' going on if you log in to fios, where they are offering new two year contracts even to existing customers.

I was able to change my package to extreme TV, 50/50 internet, and phone for $115 a month (before taxes/fees/STB charges/etc). It also threw in the quantum router for free so I don't need to pay the 4.99 router rental fee anymore.

Has anyone been able to do better? Is threatening to cancel and renew the only option to get a better deal?

I pay $69.99 for Extreme tv + 75/75 internet, but it was only after they madeseveral billing mistakes and a lot of complaining, so I'm not sure how reproducible that deal is.

Normally they don't offer the promo to existing customers. I go back and forth from Fios and Cablevision every 2 years. I pay about $145 months for extreme and 5 boxes and SHOWTIME AND HBO.

I pay $120 per month (before taxes and set top box fees) and get Extreme HD w/HBO and Showtime, 50/50 internet and phone, and no router charge. My 2 year contract is up in August 2016, so if you negotiate something better, feel free to share.

My bill indicates that I am getting $20 per month in discounts. ($10 on the Extreme HD, and $10 on the Internet). They break the bill down as $59.99 for cable (minus $10), $50 for Internet (minus $10) and $30 for phone, with HBO and Showtime thrown in for free).

It sounds like you should negotiate for HBO and/or Showtime in your package for the same price.

How many boxes? Each box is about $8 or $9. I went with the lower internet speed since I don't download much movies. The lower speed is fine, never had a problem and lower the bill,

Sounds like we have almost the same deal. I do get HBO and Showtime, it seems like everyone who has the Extreme plan gets it.

If you log in to your fios account, and select the same options, does it give you a better price?

I have 1 HD box ($8.99), 1 SD box (free), and 2 CableCards (2 x $4.99, we have some TiVos.)

It's strange, I log into my account, it asks for permissions to look at my account, and then brings up a summary of my current services with no suggestions on renewing anything. So much for getting "the deal"!

I guess I'll have to whine and haggle when my renewal comes up...

Sounds like how the garbage service works. Customers would call and complain about the price increase and the service would lower their bill. But I never called and my bill went sky high because I was subsidizing for all the complaining customers. I switched garbage service and now pay less than half of what I was paying.

I only watch football so I only have the middle TV plan. That and the 75/75 internet package cost me $105 a month with all the extra nonsense thrown in. A landline phone is only $10 more but its like another $15 with the added charges. Last time I had a landline I wasn't using it and that's why I ditched it.
