OT- Women's cycling broke my heart

The USA woman had a 39 second lead. For 20 minutes or so I was seeing her lead getting shorter but I was sure she had such a big lead that she had gold in the hand. But the group of 3 behind her were drafting together and they caught her in the last few seconds. They passed and our girl came in 4th. :-(

A single rider is at a huge disadvantage if a group works together and drafts. Sad to see but it's hard to hold a lead by yourself.

Pretty much same thing happened to the Polish rider yesterday in men's race. He had a big lead for a long time, and the 3 behind him caught up and passed him in the last 1/2 mile.

Actually, I believe the Pole held on for third. But you are right, the races ended the same way.
