Rutgers went undefeated at home this season and put up their best Big Ten record to date.

Like last year, will be a nail biter. At home I think Lehigh pulls it out unfortunately. How well do we match up against them?

Lehigh is the favorite on paper
not as knowledgeable on college wrestling but it appears this is an invitational weekend and not a tournament. Kind of like the B10 / ACC challenge. if a tourney it would be crazy for the #1 and #2 teams to face each other in the 1st round.

NCAA doesn't have one for Duals.

It an on going debate. Some think there should be while many think the individual tournament should be the focus. For years there was national duals which was a two day dual meet tournament like you proposed. Many top teams chose to skip it and focus on the individual championship.too bad, they should do a duals tourney
Maybe 24 teams
Top 8 seeds will host the round of 24 and round of 16. Top 8 get a bye to the round of 16.
Then the quarterfinals, semis, and championship will be over a weekend at 1 location.

based on the rankings 13th ranked Rutgers would face 20th ranked Appalachian st in round 1 with the winner against 4th ranked Ohio St with both matches in Ohio St.

There's absolutely no reason in my mind for a national duals tournament. There's a big divide from teams 1 and 2 vs even teams 7 and 8. And generally the top schools play each other at some point in time, or at least meet up in various individual tournaments. To me, a tournament would be a waste of time. I think my view on this has changed even within the past number of years.
That's why I said the next big step for the program is to claim a signature road win in a hostile environment like Lehigh. Its a shame they didn't move the match to Stabler. We need to claim 2 of the tossups at 133, 157, and 197 to have a legit shot at the upset. LU is banged up though so their coach might opt to bench some of their starters in favor of getting them healthy for EIWAs/NCAAs.http://intermatwrestle.com/rankings/college/Team2
In latest Intermat poll , RU 2 spots ahead of Lehigh in dual meet scoring rankings (very different from tourny scoring). Since the meet will be AT Lehigh, they will be favored in most of the toss up bouts. Last year when this match was AT Rutgers, Lehigh was the slight favorite, and RU pulled it out in the last match w a close win by Billy Smith at Heavyweight.
Wrestlers feed off a loud, raucous, large home crowd.
