Ash can still use this performance to his advantage both on the recruiting trail, and talking to his team.
It will give him more street cred.

Hey Tool I was agreeing with you on that. People here are clamoring just to hear the name Rutgers. They are grasping to any crumb they can hear.
More space and mental energy spent on this board trying to prove other posters wrong than trying to make salient points. The corollary to that is the fact that posters who are presumably Rutgers fans at times appear to want negative things to happen regarding Rutgers in order to be proven right.

Who cares? Why does that seem to offend you? A Rutgers mention won't get me excited, and I don't think it helps us, but if people want to believe it does, more power to them. If it helps them deal with the fact that Coach Ash didn't start immediately after being hired, more power to them again.

I think any mention of Rutgers without a mention of the bad events of the past few years is a plus.
Where did you pickup on the excitement over Schiano from what was said? People really do hear what they want to hear, and what fits their agenda.
