Past Cuse Football player stabs two Current players

A rather disturbing story has emerged from Syracuse this Sunday morning.

The two individuals who were stabbed? Current Orange defensive backs Chauncey Scissum (pictured, No. 21) and Corey Winfield.

No details of what led to the on-campus incident have been detailed.

Howard was officially charged with with two counts of assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. He has been indefinitely suspended from the university as he’s still enrolled as a student, two years after he “parted ways” with the football team.

Howard was kicked off the team his first summer there. Then Shafer gave him another chance but it didnt work out. Howard enrolled into to SU again and was gonna walk onto the team and wanted to earn a scholarship from the new staff. The staff was told not to give him a chance because of his history. The two victims of this crime were being targeted by a disgruntled ex player who played the same position as them. Howard showed his frustration tin the worse way. I am praying for the two players. Both of them are good kids. One of them I have a personal relationship with. Its said for SU, but this is on a larger scale. Its by for NCAA and its bad for our society as a whole.

Apparently, as you suggest, there is more to the story than just a disgruntled player taking his anger out on those who have what he wants. That's what i would assumed and kind of the reason why I responded to your first post.

This kid also harassed Babers in a parking lot. Trying to force himself back on the team within weeks of him on the job.

Clearly this kid has issues. Unfortunately, we are not unfamiliar with this problem.

"Well if I can't be a defensive back on this team... why, i'll take out the secondary one by one". Yikes, scary thought.

Either way I hope the victims are alright.
