I laughed also. Maybe PSU will also stripe the endzones like was done quite a few years ago. Might have been in 60's and early 70's.

So Penn State Fans will look like this?

Actually the endzones used to be checkered. But maybe they could make them stripes.

this may be the single stupidest think I've ever heard for a football game. with the RU fans in the upper corner it's going to look like the flag that El Salvador used in the late 1800's

Why so pessimistic? It might work if communicated properly for sections in advance.
Now unlike the outfits and flag shown, the stripes would be vertical by sections, not Horizontal. I would think.

If done right it will look good. Iowa does it and it looks awesome. Question is will the PSU fan base but into it. THey'll probably say it was Joe's dying wish and then everyone will get on board.

How long before there is a thread on BWI stating that Rutgers is not an opponent worthy of a "Stripe Out" game. After all, we are not rivals.

We get to in the 1st ever stripe out game.

Good thing that don't consider us rivals or they would have plan something special...

If only Rutgers fans were allowed to buy all of the tickets in every third section and wore RED to the game.

I don't see why it can't work. Also, for night games you typically only see the lower levels. So red in upper levels won't really be seen, on TV in particular. Lower level sure.
But seriously I don't know why the striping in the lower level sections can't work out. It's not as cool as the white out, but it seems like a good idea to me. Why not? The white out is far better because the white is so dramatic at night. And the build up to the game is exciting. And because people don't usually wear just white, so it is different. But anyway, I don't see why the stripe idea can't work. Key is getting white mainly in the alternating sections. Other sections not as important because you can't really see blue at night anyway.
