Politi: Rutgers Deserves Better

No argument here. Steve is spot on. Almost beating a dead horse. Eddie's teams haven't played defense since Year 1. About time the media takes notice.

Yup. dead horse...but appreciated (just in case).

Only thing I can debate Politi with this article is that the ridiculous 67% shooting wasn't us being hot from the perimeter. I have been against Jordan from Day 1, but you have to give props to him OFFENSIVELY (definitely not defensively) in the 1st half (not 2nd) for the team running their offensive sets and getting lay ups and good shots. The execution was very impressive. Sanders helps immensly.

Of course the 2nd half we reverted back to free lance.

Did not read the article and any Rutgers so called fan that actually reads that guy's stuff and then posts the link is not a true Rutgers fan . Steve Politi is the worst type of writer and to call him a journalist is insulting to all true journalists .

I guess some will still stick their heads in the sand. Article was spot on.

Anyone that feels that Eddie should be back is not a true Rutgers fan.

The one sure way to makes such a conclusion is by not reading the article.

Politi is a hater. I didn't read the article as well.

Only thing the press needs to do is support Rutgers. They do anything else and I'm not reading.

Yeah, because that's the job of the press, right? Very enlightened. In this case, by calling for Eddie's removal he is actually supporting Rutgers. I love how people who refuse to read his articles all have an opinion about his articles and feel the need to not only read threads about them but post about them.

Politi seems to be supporting our new football coach and staff just fine.
I hated polidouche for a very long time. He is one of the reasons I cancelled my subscription to the ledger. I broke my boycott of him a few weeks ago to read his 3 part series on Chris Ash. Honestly, that was a great read. Very insightful look at how Chris Ash became Chris Ash. Also a thorough job from his upbringing in Iowa through the view from his wife, Doreen. Sorry for digressing.

My point is, I clicked the link and read another polidouche article and unfortunately, once again, he is spot on with his thoughts on the Rutgers basketball situation today. Yes, he got some of his typical snarkiness in but all in all he is spot on.

There was never anyone more snarky than Luicci and for years he would take potshots at RU in articles that otherwise had nothing to do with RU. It's something about New Jersey.

There is one similarity between Flood and Jordan. Their complete inability to adjust to the other teams adjustments. That is coaching.
Its also the lack of talent as compared to the opponent.

this...I saw MSU come out for bear in the 2nd half and Eddie didn't react to that at all, it was the same gameplan which than devolved in to freelancing panic as usual. It almost negates how good the first half was offensively because the 2nd half was such an abomination..just like the OSU game and the first MSU game. A lot is fools gold because the opponents don't respect RU in these games and don't give their full efforts in first halves

agree...I have taken Politi to task and hurled vicious insults to him but I find myself actually agreeing and retweeting his stuff about RU lately and that is not just negative stuff but all the football positive stuff as well. He actually could even be more scathing toward Jordan than he has been

At Rutgers its easier to delay the inevitable because it usually saves money for a team that very few people that matter care about.

This. Teams come in hoping to just sleepwalk through the game, knowing that if they need to, they can turn it on at will if they need to. Usually you tell teams to never take an opponent lightly. Not us, we get treated like a bye week.

I think several of us wrote that article...several times...on this board...a few months ago :)
We also wrote a few other articles that carried a different message. Tip of the hat to him for picking the right one to publish.

Didn't read Politi's article, but it probably be hard to find fault with it because RU MBB is in such bad shape ( or appears to be).
Don't like NJO.com and think they spin things to look worse than that really are.

But the way RU FB was under Flood and how RU MBB looks now , hard to spin anything to look worse than the truth.

A follow-up to the age-old quote from Pat: "What did we as Rutgers fans do to deserve this?!" And to think that was during the not-so-horrific times.

You seriously think he has to read this board to decide Eddie has to go? Seriously?

Sometimes this board needs to get over itself.

First of all, lighten up. Second everything he wrote was in the game thread, but yea, it's obvious to anyone with eyes.

Columnists have to do their jobs.

It's not PR.

We have enough Big Ten employees telling us how great we're doing.

Some of us don't like Steve, not hard to understand. Funny how he has 12 candidates for RU and did not like what Julie said. Think he is a joke.

GRFIG: During the game yesterday I was telling my brother, that the one thing I'll give Jordan is at least his teams have been scoring which, since the Hill years, it's been year after year of one guy holding the ball and then chucking up a brick as the shot clock runs out, has been nice to watch. The biggest issue is Jordan's teams have are clueless on defense.

That's because he is an NBA coach where they don't play or teach defense and rebounding, and therefore not the right for college game
