Translation: After this, therefore because of this.

It's what is known as a logical fallacy, i.e. it's not true. More specifically, it's a joke - an accusation that points to a lack of critical thinking.

Unfortunately, in today's world, too many people seem to believe that post hoc ergo propter hoc is some sort of scientific rule. It's not. A willingness to believe that correlation implies causation has become the secret handshake of the unthinking.

I'll start this post with both my wife and I who live in Monmouth County drove to Burlington County to get the Pfizer vaccines back in March 2021 since we believed those to be the best at the time. It was a huge set up working out of a closed store in the mall. Neither of us got the boosters but we know plenty who got sick with and without the shots. In fact our general doctors Jersey Shore medical in Holmdel at that time had 17 workers get Covid and had to shut down the office. My wife still has an unbelievable antibody rating of +2500 which is considered blood donor level. Yet we both got Covid this past November, her losing taste and smell for 4 days, and I got the rare sensation of sunburn type skin sensitivity which is associated with this newest variate. I believed in the vaccine, yet as with so many other things we find out decades later, I always reserve the thought we might not be getting all the information, maybe for the better good? For anyone to be labeled wacky, stupid or worse just for leaving a little doubt in the governments process is wrong. Too bad there wasn't Social Media back in the day to ask these fine gentlemen what they thought.https://www.history.com/news/the-infamous-40-year-tuskegee-study

Agreed, but it’s probably worse than that. Seems to me a lot of this is intentional. That is, they can do the work, but actively choose not to. You see it all the time, even on this site. Objectively, conversations with each other SHOULD be about getting as close as possible to something that you would call “the truth”. People don’t care about the truth…they want to be right.

One more thing I don't believe the vaccine had anything to do with the heart stopping for the Bill's player. 23 years ago my then 30 yearold brother was sitting in Bar Bombay in Sayreville when his heart stopped. His buddy administered CPR until he was taken to St. Peter's In New Brunswick. Turns out he has an enlarged heart muscle from an inherited condition. He was in great shape, a All State Soccer player. He now has a dual chamber Pacemaker which has gone off twice. Each time the doctors were able to read what his heart was doing during the event over phone lines. Once it was his heart way out of rhythm and believe it or not the 2nd time ,his heart was fine, they believe it was the pool filter not being grounded correctly at the summer home he was renting in Nags Head,NC. Sort of like thr warning of not being close to microwave ovens when you gave a Pacemaker

Does this thread has anything to to with Rutgers football or is this a vaccine thread?

It's secret code for the OC hire. It's going to happen after Schiano is no longer head coach.

I'm confused so this must be stupid.
Exactly.

And I wonder what percentage of readers of this will thoroughly miss your point and/or misunderstand what I mean by "exactly". Half, maybe? Three-quarters?

Depressing, when I think about it. Think I'll go do something fun instead of thinking about it. 😃

Take this to CE
I agree insofar as the explicit COVID or vaccine talk. But the OP and many of the posts are spot on and apply to conversation about football or basketball or anything else we discuss out here, away from the cesspool that is the CE board. The OP is a conversation all of America really needs to have and have again until it starts to sink in.
