3.2 seconds left on the clock and IU down 2. Purdue puts a player on the ball that ended up having no involvement on the play and IU gets the ball in via a bounce pass and its more than enough time for Indiana to get up court and a wide open look from just beyond NBA range. The shot was missed but Bohannon drains those in his sleep. Bottom line Pikiell 100% made the right defensive alignment.

well it wouldnt be Bohannon in this case....Bohannon would have been Romeo who was not involved in the shot.

they certainly got a good look..it was well executed by Indiana

you cannot say Pike made the 100% right call because there are many schools of thought on the inbound,,,it truly is up for debate

Of course they front rim their wide open 3, while we get top left edge of the backboard and swish’d

What I really hated about this was that it reopened my wounds and reminded me of our game. Ugh.

I am over it. I was just curious to see how Purdue would play it. Actually, IU losing helped because the crowd would have gone nuts. Both home teams went home disappointed and it aided RU in the standings.

I don’t know if pikiell made the right choice 100% but seeing that just gave me more conviction to not blame pikiell for his decision

I should clarify he didn't make 100% the right choice because we all know what happened but by the odds alone he did and this example provided proof of how much court can be covered in just over 3 seconds and a visual roughly of the look Iowa may have gotten to compare with the look they did get.

Another thing to think about. I think Jay Young said last night that our bigs can dribble from foul line to foul line in 3 seconds or something like that. Could have that completely wrong but what some of us kept repeating is that it's plenty of time for someone like Bohannan to get a decent look - a 94 foot desperation pass was not necessary.

yet sometimes we see these passes go aimlessly to the opposing team for a non event...each of these type situations is fascinating to watch

I think RU unlocked the gameplan to dig into Iowa defensively, Maryland is playing aggressively on defense and has Bruno anchored in the lane to deter drives.

As far as the end of Indiana, Dakich agreed with nothing on the ball and centerfielder at mid court.

Yeah sometimes Biruta gets shoved as he goes up for the ball, it lands in Brownlee's hands, he runs with it, steps out of bounds, chucks it into the 20th row of the stands with 2 seconds left, refs run for the exits as fast as their tubby 70 year old bodies will let them
