Today was the Northeast Regional for the Pylon 7 on 7 at Woodbridge HS in NJ, and here are a few notes from the event which featured 10 teams after a few no shows.

Teamwise, current Scarlet Knights Delon Stephenson and Nadir Barnwell along with former Scarlet Knight Daryl Stephenson were in attendance to support Nadir's brother and Rutgers 2017 target Elijah Barnwell.

In talking to some of the Grand Street Campus people in attendance, 2015 DT signee Kamaal Seymour is now 6 foot 6, 310 pounds and due to the lack of depth, he is expected to compete right away for playing time at the 3 technique once he arrives on campus.

On the Warrior Kings team ran by NUC's Dave Schuman comprised of prospects from the Tri-State area, Rutgers 2016 target WR KJ Gray of St.Peter Prep would have been my top performer. It wasn't a deep event talent wise, but it doesn't take away from Gray's performance. He has huge, strong hands hands and the football looks so small when he brings it in. He's improved as a route runner and every time there was a jump ball situation, Gray was coming down it with. Rutgers is doing well here but Gray has plans to camp at multiple schools this summer in the South.

Gray's teammates on the day 2016 ATH Frank Darby of Lincoln in Jersey City and 2018 QB Artur Sitkowski of Old Bridge NJ were also stood out.

Darby camped at Rutgers last summer and recently received a visit from Coach Rossi but will need to camp again for an offer, most schools like him as a WR but he can also play safety like he did today. Darby was constantly around the football, coming up with multiple interceptions and has great size at 6 foot 1, 180 Syracuse, Iowa and Pittsburgh have already offered Darby.

Sitkowski will start varsity for this fall for Old Bridge and he seems to have all of the tools to join the group of 2018 NJ's QB's which already have early offers (Allan Walters of Paramus Catholic, Devin Leary of Timber Creek and George Pearson of Matawan) and may have more upside than all 3. He already has great size at 6 foot 4 205, a very live arm and the ability to throw the touch pass when necessary.

2016 QB Max Mullaney of Colts Neck also played with Warrior Kings but he told me that he received a visit from Coach Rossi this week and Rutgers is looking at him as a LB, and he looks like a bodybuilder at solid 6 foot 2, 225. He is open to playing LB and will play the position this fall for his team which wil be coached by former Scarlet Knight Darien Barnes.

2016 Long Island WR Jelani Greene had the catch of the day with a driving end zone grab. He was constantly open all day and he is someone who can open the eyes of the Rutgers staff during one of the summer camp sessions.

The Pack from NYC featured mutliple players from Grand Street Campus including 2016 WR targets Taysir Mack and Ahmed Bah. Mack didn't play due to a hamstring injury but Rutgers is still out in front in his recruitment. Bah doesn't have a leader right now but does hold the Rutgers offer in high regard. Bah is a huge target who looks like he would excel as a possession receiver at the next level. Did a great job across the middle of the field using his body to shield defenders to make a catch. He's a bigger guy (6-4) that also goes and gets the football at it's highest point during jumpball situations.

The NJ Speed team featured many players from the host school, with 2017 S Quaasim Glover standing out. Glover is around 6 foot 2, 185 pounds and was 3rd team all group 4 last year for the Barrons. He another one who I constantly saw making a play on the football in the air, especially on tipped passes.

2017 offer Elijah Barnwell of Piscataway has really reshaped his body, he's a lean 195 right now with plenty of room to fill out. He played RB and SS/OLB and on defense, I saw him make an interception on an out route, making a great break on the football along with a few passes defensed. There were some times where he had issues in coverage but think he is good enough to play on either side of the football in college.

Another 2017 standout was WR Eddie Lewis. Lewis is currently at Mater Dei but will be transferring to St.John Vianney for the 2015 football season. Lewis was all over the field for NJ Speed running precise routes on the intermediate routes, along with an ability to beat DB's vertically. He has great length and the room to easily fill his frame. Lewis has offers from Iowa and Monmouth and Coach Rossi visited him this week, and he'll camp at Rutgers next month with a good shot at an offer.

2016 St.Peter Prep WR Kolton Huber had a strong day and has grown to 6 foot 1, 200 pounds. Huber has some interest from Rutgers and has offers from Syracuse, Kansas and UConn. Could see him growing into a LB like his older brother Shane who is at UMass. I only saw him drop one pass all day.

The PA Playmakers won the title with a team filled mostly with underclassmen from Philadelphia power Imhotep Charter. Although their top guys like Rutgers targets Naseir Upshur and Tyliek Raynor weren't there, 2018 RB/S Isheem Young who was just offered by Wisconsin this week and 2018 WR Justin Harris had very strong days.

Lastly, Mass Elite from Boston MA came in as an unknown but finished the round robin section as the top seed. They have two 2017 QB's to remember in Noah Gray from Leominster ( 6 foot 3, 200 pounds) and Austin Barton from Newton South ( 6 foot 3, 180 pounds) Barton is more known after a strong Elite 11 performance with Boston College on the verge of offering, and Northwestern and Michigan coming to watch him throw in the near future.

I had a separate note on Team 412 standout Lamont Wade, a 2017 Four Star from Clariton PA here
