While I would "love" a Haskins, let's start with that...and I already "love" who we have competing, and I would not be surprised if this kid Dare really lights it up in the summer...I keep having the same thoughts about the QB competition. What does RU really need for our style and competition? Do we really need the stud or can we do well without. McDaniels looks like he will spread it out a bit, maybe pattern after the Pats. TE's, Backs, WR's, short medium yardage, run a lot, go deep every now and then. The kind of offense you need a "smart QB" to manage. How do you find these kids? You can't necessarily see it on tape. This has been on my mind for quite some time and I decided to post when I read today's article about the Indiana QB. They had McDaniels come watch and as preparation, the coach had the team practice progressions ahead of time so that when McDaniels came he could show him what he can do. Didn't get him an offer right away but likely put him on the radar. I don't know, maybe I am subconsciously compensating for a miss on Haskins. But personally, having Snee and Krim already and seeing more to come have put me in a great place with the thoughts that McDaniels will do really good things with the talent we have on the line, and at the skills positions.
