Myself and a couple fraternity brothers are looking to make the trip down to John Hopkins for the game so we can support our team. Looking for recommendations on travel routes and somewhere to eat once we're down there! Thanks!

Pretty straight shot- 95 to 695 towards Towson to Charles Street is the easiest way. Follow that all the way down into the city. It runs right into Hopkins.

How long are you there for, staying the night or coming back same day? Will help determine restaurants. Hopkins has some very solid food truck options too if you didn't want to muck around.

I am sure the team appreciates the support!

Not sure if we're staying the night yet, but most of us are 21 so we're okay for any local pubs or bars that may have decent food also. Thank you for the advice on directions! And we're happy to support our teams and this gives us an excuse for a short road trip

You have just become the newest members of of the MLAX fan/support club, The Legion.

Be loud and proud down there!

Just change a few of the words here (like Spartans to Scarlet Knights) and have BB Photoshopped in as Leonidas as he gives this speech up on the video board pregame...

Shorter version...

Somebody can remix this with a few appropriate changes (Like "THIS IS SPARTA!" can be THIS IS RUTGERS!" instead) ...

Couple of spots to look into that aren't terribly far from Hopkins.

Valley Inn on Falls Road. It's probably 20 minutes from Hopkins and you can jump right on 695 if you are heading back to NJ pretty easily. It's a restaurant/bar. Sit in the bar and have some crab cakes. The crab soup there is good too.

Pappas in Cockeysville has really great crab cakes. Also pretty close to jumping on 695k.
Mount Washington Tavern is pretty close to Hopkins and has some decent food.

If you stay the night and want some night life, go to Fells Point. There are tons of bars and people your same age.

If I think of anything else I will let you know.

Cali is a MD. guy so I would take his advice. Have fun hopefully, we can work on some things and get a better game out of our defense. whenever you only make 5 saves their is a bigger issue than the goalie just not stopping the ball.

We definitely let some point blank shots happen. The D played Sat was not indicative of the D we have played up until that point.

Just to the west of JHU's campus is a neighborhood called Hampden where there's a mix of casual eateries and funky/eclectic bars and hangouts. The main drag is 36th Street.

If you like ice cream, go to the Charmery in Hampden. No joke, it's incredible. Best I have ever had.

Thanks for all the advice! We'll definitely be stopping in to some of those places. Unfortunately we can't stay over though because we have to be back in the morning for Dance Marathon. I've been to all the home games so far this season so I know the Delaware game isn't how we normally play. Hopefully we see a return to form Friday!

Hope you guys have a blast down there and come home having watched an RU victory. Dance Marathon brings back memories - used to DJ parts of it while I was at Rutgers.

Ambiance is meh, but the crab cakes are very legit. Some say the best. It's on the way back to NJ so won't take you much off course. Just a few minutes off 695.

Wow, this is gonna be a miserable game to play in and to sit and watch.

Like football, sometimes playing in that weather is fun. But really, we have more to lose with our style then they do when it is crappy out.
