Naseir Upshur had to leave early but he amongst other recruits was part of the reason Guarantano made the trip down today. We'll have feedback from him later but heard he enjoyed his day and he'll be back on campus again without a doubt.

Mike Dare and Nakia Griffin came down to help recruit and hang out. Mike said he was down in the bubble earlier in the day throwing with the team.

The buzz on the Ahmir Mitchell visit is that it went better then one could imagine. As he tweeted, Rutgers is his current leader. He is being advised to see some other schools but Rutgers has positioned themselves nicely at this point.

In talking to a few of the parents who have attended junior day events at PSU recently, they mentioned that they preferred the focus approach of Rutgers instead. Said PSU tried to cram too much into one day.

Rutgers made a big impression on Maryland WR Marcus Simms who now calls Maryland and Rutgers his top schools after today's visit.

I thought Rutgers made a great impression on Donald Stewart who visited Duke last weekend and Gene Coleman. I'm hearing that Rutgers is Coleman's leader and I wouldn't be shocked Stewart decided on Rutgers. Stewart has developed a close bond with Mo Jabbie as the two workout together.

Interesting visitor all the way from Kansas was Mark Collins Jr, son of former NYG Mark Collins.

The Bullis duo of Patrick Johnson and Cam Brown along with Dematha OL Elijah Johnson took a separate tour of the campus. Johnson and Brown would like to play together and really enjoyed the visit today. At this point Johnson is a little higher on Rutgers than Brown.

DT Ellison Jordan isn't the biggest DT as he's closer to 6-0, 5-11 but makes up for it with his motor which is what Coach Jim Panagos appreciates most about him. He has family in Scotch Plains (hometown of Rashan Gary, Mike Dwumfour) that he was planning to visit tonight after the visit. He plans to get back on campus this spring.

Saw some of the current players walking around, heard Kevin Wilkins looked muscular, reshaped his body from his high school days and heard he's close to 300 pounds. Looked like Myles Nash and Kemoko Turay have put on some very good weight as well.
