Assuming Women's Soccer and Wrestling are the top programs. How would you round out the top 5? Also, which are at the bottom and need the most work to become ranked programs?

Women's Soccer
Wrestling
Men's Soccer/Women's Hoops
Men's Lax
Football

...everyone else...
...some worse everyone else's

Men's Hoops/Volleyball

Women's Soccer
Wrestling
Men's Soccer
Men's Lax
Football--soon to move up the ladder
Don't know much about Track & Field or Swimming,Diving

What do you know? Didn't realize at first, but Nuts & I virtually agree. How about that after our latest difference of opinion?

I agree with rudad02's top 5. Football should be there, as we've been very competitive during most of the past decade. Women's bball should be there but seems to be trending in the wrong direction at the moment.

As for other sports, most of them finished last in the B1G last year so have no where to go but up. But some seem to be making progress already. Gymnastics seems to be building a nice program and appears to be on the way up. Hopefully, it will move up in the standings at the B1G championships. Women's swimming/diving finished 10th in the B1G championships last weekend, ahead of 3 other teams (UMd doesn't seem to have a team). I think they finished in last place in our first year. Women's softball was quite competitive in the conference last season so can hopefully build upon that. Others like the track and field teams seem to have distanced themselves from their traditional eastern competition - two teams just won eastern indoor championships - but still probably have a ways to go to reach competitiveness in the B1G. Baseball I know little about other than the fact that RU used to reach the NCAA's on a fairly regular basis but that doesn't seem to have happened much recently.

B1G membership should help all of the Olympic sports. At the very least, the opportunity to compete against good programs on a regular basis + to be on TV should help RU take recruits away from any of a large number of eastern schools that can't offer those advantages. Just getting a few of the best eastern athletes out there each year should lead to teams that are more competitive in the B1G.

The most difficult rebuilding job, IMHO, will be men's bball, a very high profile sport where the competition for recruits will be a lot tougher than with the Olympic sports.

Nothing wrong with that. No reason to carry one difference of opinion/stance on a topic, into another conversation, IMHO. We're all here for the same reason and until there is a continued series of battles, for nothing but the sake of battling, or "attacks," I have no issue with going toe-to-toe with anybody I can enjoy a game and beer with!

I'll drink to that!

Pretty sad statement that FB is in top 5 after last season. Looking forward to continued improvement in all sports...MBB and WVB need to get moving!...and for football to stay in top 5 on merit not by default.
