Recruit-Jax Levitch

Looks like he also prepped. He was listed as Class of 2015 by Yahoo/Rival.

Again St.John's thought Douby was not good enough for them. john battle was the 6th man on high school team. kid could be a good player.

He attended Trinity High School in Louisville and I think they won the state championship while he was there. My twin brother taught and coached at Trinity for 30 years but he passed away from cancer 17 years ago. Trinity has outstanding athletic programs. If the guy can shoot and knows the game we can certainly use him.

Nobody knows how a player will perform at the college level.I do know ,however, that the last two decades has shown that the Rutgers recruits were not talented enough to successfully compete in the Big East,AAC and now the B1G.

In the last few years, the amount of transfers across the board is crazy. Kids are not going to the right school or level. Eddie seems to be targeting a shooter to spread the floor for his athletes so they can penetrate. Duke had two or three kids that are just shooters to spread the floor and NO I would never suggest RU is Duke. It's just the rationale behind putting a roster together.

Great point. I think Sanders will be here for 3-4 years.

YES...college basketball is filled with players who have one job....find the open spots, shoot it and stretch the floor. It's all about the pieces. Shooters are a big piece.

Need snipers 6'6" and taller. He fits. Let's go!

YES..........Rutgers has NEVER had a 6'7" guy that can shot it with range....need some of these guys for a complete team. Mitchell was the only possible exception.

Jordan gets it when it comes to pitting together a complete team.

I watched Nigel Johnson during the pre-game warmups shooting alone on the opposite basket before Cent. Ark came out and that
kid can really shoot. He was throwing up effortless 3's one after another from Douby range. He's going to be a nice addition next year.

Hughes,Mitchell and the transfer from Indiana who was coached by his father at a Long Island HS(can't remember his name)all could make the out side shot.

Great to hear. I can really see next year doing big things given one or two recruits that come in and help us out. Big things 16-19 wins.

It looks like EJ is recruiting pieces to a puzzle, which is good. While it's great if you can get five one-and-done-type guys to commit who are all around great players (e.g. Kentucky), at our level it's important to have the right pieces in place so that we can call upon certain skill sets when we need them during the course of a game/season. Cincy has done fairly well with that - getting mostly 3* guys, with a few 4*+ guys sprinkled in - but who fit with the system and take coaching.

I t hought Ryan Johnson had good potential last year. I don't know if he hacked it out grad wise. This kid could do it.

He is at Prep school right now. Seem to be getting minutes, and hitting some shots. The rest of the year will tell us how big this transition will be for him and how long it will take for him to be able to help us out.

Rob Hodgson..Donelle Lumkin

Okay....we are going way back. Someone mentioned Keith Hughes, that's 1989 when Jordan was an assistant. Lumpkin was in the early 90's. Hodgson was in the late 90's..

I stand corrected, but, I think I made my point when the examples are from 15- 25 years ago....lol

These kind of kids were the type that really contributed to Notre Dame over the years. Would be nice to get a couple to work with Corey and Nigel. Open up the court.

I can see Corey running the show and spreading the court with Nigel and Mike Williams. That is a small team but with 2 really good outside shooters. Add Jax and Justin Goode and we would have 2 more really good shooters off the bench.

Hodgson was one of my favorite players ever at RU, but I never thought of him as being a three point shooter. Ricky Dadika, on the other hand....

Hodgson hit 52 threes as a senior, with a .406 average... second to Billet that year, and ahead of Greer. The year prior he hit 37 with a .366 average.

That's more threes than I would have thought, but still, not really what you think of as a three point guy. 1.6 per game as a senior, and 1.3 a game as a junior.

Yesterday I called my twin brother's former assistant coach who will be retiring as a teacher this spring from Trinity. He told me that Jax was a soph when Trinity won the state championship. He had Jax in class last year as a senior and told me he was an outstanding player and an even better person. He knew that Jax was going to a prep school in Florida as he was hoping for better offers. He thinks that Jax had the offer from Delaware before he left Trinity. Here is hoping he can commit to RU. It would be great if we added a 6'6" shooter.
