Met him up in the Catskills back in 1985 where he was brought in for a day or so by the hotel. He was a delight with the little old ladies in the dining room and we got to have a fun 3 v 3 game with him out on the basketball court. At one point I have an open shot from the top of the key and launched it over him as he jumped out from the lane (I'm all of 5'8", BTW). After it clanked off the rim he turned to me with a a twinkle in his eye and said "You was HOPIN'!" Nice guy and sorry to see him pass.
