This one really hurts... One of the great icons of his age. He was 67.

The first cassette that I ever bought was the Eagles, I was at Two Guys and picked it out.
My first album was bought for me when I was a little guy: One Of These Nights.
I met him at a trade show once. Rod Stewart was supposed to do a private concert - he called in sick and Glenn flew in to do show at last minute. He was great on stage and stayed late afterwards signing autographs, taking photos and talking to people. I had drinks with him. He was such a nice regular guy. RIP Glenn.

My wife and I finally had the chance to see them at the Garden a few years back. Great show and were thinking of going again if they did another round. An American icon for sure. You Belong to the City is still one of my favorite tunes from the 80's.
I was an early fan having seen the Eagles at the Capital Theater in the mid 70's but I drifted away as they became a mega group. A couple of years ago I got offered tickets to the History of The Eagles tour at MSG. My wife and I went and it was one of the best shows we ever saw. Really glad we got the chance. The documentary is very good and I became a fan of Frey when he stood up for himself and Henley in the contract negotiations. Interesting look at the behind the scenes life of a rock group.

He had been ill for awhile from what I had heard. Another tough loss. One of the first albums I ever bought on my own was the Greatest Hits album in '75, when I was 13 - played that thing to death, lol. Anyone who's a fan needs to watch the documentary that came out a couple of years ago - really well done.

lol, Keith Richards looked like he was 75 when he was 35 and now that he's near 75, he finally looks his age - that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger, I guess...
Wonder what Don Felder is thinking. Frey came off as a jerk in the doc towards Felder, holding a grudge all these years and cutting the guy who wrote Hotel California out from all of the big money tours they've been doing recently.
Wonderful musical legacy. Damn, its hard to imagine a world with none of the great rock stars left yet sadly, we're a decade away from losing most all of them.
Glad I got to see the History of the Eagles tour at the Rock last year. Absolutely brutal to see Frey and Bowie go within a week of each other...that's enough for one year let alone one week. May he RIP and thanks for all the great tracks.
Wow, that's a shock. Lemmy, my mother in law, then Bowie, now Frey. Had my fill of death this month.
