5 nights away, RU (11-1) @ SHU (9-2).
Friday, December,23, 6:30pm at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

Delgado kicked off the rivalry week nicely with comments that he will never lose to RU.
There has been some banter back and forth between the fan-bases and that should intensify as the week progresses.

Coach Pikiell's first game vs The Hall.

Parking you ask?

Prudential Center (The Rock) is a quick walk from Newark Penn Station, but if you drive, parking can range from $7 to $35, depending on how far you want to walk.
Many cash lots surround The Rock.
If you find street parking for free, keep in mind that you can't park there until after 6pm M-F or you will be ticketed.

You can buy prepaid parking via Parkwhiz

Bars nearby?

Prudential Center offers beer and booze inside for SHU games, but if you want to knock back a few pregame (at better pricing) there are quite a few options near The Rock.

There are 5 bars (that also server food) that are right next to The Rock.
I mean a stone's throw away across from the Box Office and Devils Den store on Edison Pl.
*Dino, Novelty Burger/Mercato Pizza and Redds can also be accessed on Market St.

You can google their websites for menus and also their Yelp reviews.

My personal review:

Dinosaur BBQ-Gets very crowded on game or event nights, IMO, good barbeque and a decent beer menu. Service has been good for me but when it gets packed your food can take long.
Kid friendly.

Redds Biergarten- Newcomer to the bar scene over there,
very large beer list, they have 2 or 3 bars you can sit at or community biergarten tables where you place your order and then pick up your food at a stand.
I've ordered standard fare so far such as chicken tenders, hot dogs, but there are other options.
Lots of tvs, not too kid friendly IMO.

Edison Ale House-I havn't had food there in a while, I believe it's under new mgmt. Used to have a good craft beer list, it usually gets packed for Devils & SHU games, the first bar you will see on Edison Pl. They have tables for dining.
Kid Friendly

Novelty Burger/Mercato Pizza (same owners, you can order either menu in both)
Very kid friendly, same owners, they connect inside and you can order from either menu.
The pizza is very good.
Novelty is good for kids, you can get them a hot dog, fries and ice cream for cheap.
Novelty Burger actually has a bar you can sit at along with tables, Mercato is all tables.

Taste Venue
Has a long bar downstairs and they will open up the bar upstairs if need be.
They also have some tables but they are very close to the bar.
Bottled domestic beer bucket specials.
IMO, not very kid friendly but I've seen parents bring their kids there.

There are also many bars/restaurants on the other side of Newark Penn Station such as Bellos Pub, where I think a bunch of RU fans are meeting up pregame.
Also for a good Spanish meal go to Fornos after the game.

If you have questions during the week post them here and I will do my best to answer them.

Oh, and wear Red to the game.

Plenty of seats available through TM in Sections 9-11 and 15-17 at the $34 and $53 rates. These are the corners opposite the Shoe students.

I see a lot of good seats, just want to sit where there are some or more RU fans.

One of the most underrated developments of the past 5 years: between Cuse joining the ACC and Dino BBQ expanding to various locations in and around NYC, I never have to go to Syracuse again.

Really hope Rutgers markets this game to fans this week. Will be nice to see a lot of Red in the building and it can make a difference especially if their students are on break.

I got mine from RU. It says 4 20 16 which I think means section 4, row 20 seat 16. I hope that is correct.

A lot of RU students/alums live in North Jersey, they will have an easy commute to The Rock.
Hobbs should start getting the word out via social media.

If you don't want to spend $77 for the comfortable center court seats, I think the best value are seats in Section 6, closer to Section 7.

Though, spend within your budget but somehow find a way to attend and support this team.

Using lol. Are you not able to order tickets?

Lol. I had a chance to order them two weeks ago, but I could not get my brother to sign. It is an hour and a half right, and I am on a strict budget. Well see what happens.
