Rough Day At Michigan Stadium

Who cares anymore, one way or the other. Jesus. So tired of hearing about who did and didn't "protest" every week.

Also, Of the 64 ejections, 51 were for ID violations, five were for disorderly conduct, seven were for alcohol in the stadium and one was for an ordinance violation. Not sure why the article even mentioned this, seems like a normal amount of ejections given 111,800. All the alcohol violations were probably Wisconsinites anyway and I'm sure they were involved in a few others. They're a salty bunch.

They are a Surly bunch, the Badgers fans to say the least.

Good. I hope more players join. Freedom of speech, and our players doing it may finally get rid of certain elements on this board.

I went to the game in Ann Arbor last year. Michigan fans were extremely nice. The only threat against me decked out in red was to hear "Welcome to the Big 10/Big House/Ann Arbor." One guy in a diner thinking RU was in PA was the most annoyance I had from them.

This thread is absurd.

Ha at Rutgers? The admin will create a safe space for them to protest at the stadium...

It's a good thing NIRH wasn't born years earlier and been eligible for the military draft during Vietnam. Cause he'd still be living north of the Canadian border after sneaking away in the night to avoid his military obligation to the USA.

He likes to reap the benefits of being an American citizen but is willing to give nothing back to his country for the privileges that he takes for granted. He should be an example to the rest of us with his attitude of false entitlement.

He also knows very little about football, but I think the rest of us can live with that, ha !

The constitution of the United States provides a safe space for people to peacefully protest the United States, the flag, the police, etc. Just as it provides a safe space for you to protest the protestors. Without that constitutionally ensured safe space for free speech, our flag, our national anthem, and all other patriotic symbols would be meaningless.

I don't personally agree w/the approach these protests are taking, in part because of my sense of patriotism and in part because of my belief that it's not really helping to solve the problem the protests are seeking to address.

But I love my country because of the freedoms it provides us all. Including those with whom I disagree.

Lol no it doesn't. Go to West Point and protest and see where you end up. People have a right to protest but the "thafe spathe" thing isn't provided. I can't break in your house and protest under protections

Yes, it does.

First, a safe-space seeks to provide protections for people. But a safe space cannot guarantee that safety any more than traffic laws can guarantee your safety from drunk drivers. Which makes your entire premise invalid.

Second, if I were to protest something unpopular at West Point, and was attacked by cadets for doing it, the cadets that attacked me would have violated their training, violated the law, and would be kicked out of West Point.

None of the West Point grads I've known displays the lack of discipline you are attributing to them. Perhaps you are projecting.

Very poor comparison. If a person decided to sit during the National Anthem while at West Point, the Cadets would not like it but if they believe in what they are doing, they certainly would defend your right to do so. Someone breaking into a house, not so much.

It's sad when our cuckold fans spend hard earned money to travel to a game. And they say the other teams fans "were nice to them".

They laugh at you behind your back.

I disagree!! NIRH would be back in the US taking advantage of Jimmy Carter's amnesty program.

Quit using your name in vain and give yourself a confession!

??? These are the same fans where: 1) Young boys are molested and it's covered up for 20 years (Penn State) 2) Young girl gymnists who rep our country were repeatedly molested and there isn't much of an outcry from within (Michigan State) 3) Fans wear badger heads on their heads and get engaged on "Bucky the Beaver (my relatives)"-Wisconsin. They have little to do comparatively except farm (whole B1G and we do that well in NJ).

Let the yee-has make their "Jersey shore" comments. At least NJ (and Maryland) HAVE shores-and pro football, pro baseball, pro soccer, pro hockey, many venues for concerts, Broadway, yada, yada, yada.

Nothing to do with "safety". Political protests are banned at West Point. There's a warning right at the gate. A civilian could always sit for the anthem but if people want to bring signs and chant slogans etc they get arrested. Cadets, military members of course have to stop anything they are doing (including driving) when they hear the anthem. They have to salute the flag or the direction of the music if they cant see the flag. You can be in middle of being searched for a game and if the anthem comes on everybody in a uniform freezes and salutes ("call to colors").

Of course the odd part of all these protests is there is a lot being made of the wonders of the Constitution but BLM wants Constitution replaced. In the end its really just a toxic movement (the anthem thing) that doesn't create dialogue as much as end it.

I wonder if he even signed up for Selective Service when he turned 18?

Freedom of speech doesn't mean the military or a business cannot have rules conduct. Nonetheless, West Point is not immune to cadets exercising their right to free speech:

If the NFL wants to prohibit what some players are doing, they can do so. But then the NFL will have to deal with the public response.

Well I'm not living on SSI, spending my time on a message board in my last decades in Florida, so I guess I'm up on you.

No just an American practicing their right to free speech which I know you believe in.

100%. Doesn't mean it isn't a poor reflection our fans. There is one fanbase who has shown disrespect to us in this conference, and it ain't Michigan.

NIRH is a joke.
He'd be the first one running for police help if someone robbed his trailer.

I request the cops with Mumford and Suns tattoos. They're the ones keep us from the brink of race war, right?

I did.

Maybe I should have claimed a bone spur, like your candidate, and then claimed that Iraq/Afghanistan was the equivalent of having chlamydia.
Not my candidate.

I was asking just about you. And I am glad you did.

When you think about it's the least we can do, right?

Yeah. I'm not a taker. But I guess takers are in these days. Looks like one of the 47% that pays no tax and depends on government secured the GOP nomination.

Again, we're just talking about ourselves here.

I'm glad we both did what we're supposed to on our 18th birthday.

When you see most of the posters disagreeing with you, you have to wonder who is the certain element

Age discrimination is the best you got ? I would have thought that an advanced thinker like you would object to all forms of discrimination ? My bad.

Don't get me wrong NIRH. You do provide a certain element of "entertainment" to the board. So you do actually contribute a small amount of value to the forum, in your own special way.

I just wish you'd learn something about college football. Because if you do then there will be some common ground with the rest of the RU fans here.

Until then the rest of us will defend your right to express yourself and alienate most everyone else who posts here. So you've got that going for you, which is nice.

West Point investigated the photo and determined it wasn't intended as a protest nor was it political. All of those cadets will salute the flag and anthem as regulations dictate.

NFL is already dealing with a response from public as suggested by falling ratings
