Some organized watch parties for Rutgers basketball games coming up! Just wanted to pass the word along from what I've seen on Facebook/other forums..

Tues Dec 3rd vs Pitt - Olive Branch on campus in NB hosted by "Scarlet Nation" aka TOS
Tues Dec 3rd vs Pitt - Redds Beirgarden in New Brunswick hosted by RUAA Young Alumni network
Sun Dec 8th vs MSU - Olive Branch hosted by RU Court Club

Two great opportunities to get together with fellow fans, watch the game in an awesome environment, RU swag/giveaways, drink specials, etc.

Show the RU pride !!

myself and @AreYouNUTS have organized football watch parties for many years in HOBOKEN.

The turnout has been really weak the last few years with the exception of a game or two. But with basketball on the upswing .. wanted to field what kind of interest is out there for RU bball watch parties in Hoboken in 2019/20 ?!?

Happy to help organize if I feel like we can garantee the bar at least 20 people in attendance. Otherwise they're not happy partners and I feel like a jackazz asking for drink specials, game sound, marketing, and then nobody shows ..

Everyone is invited! You do not have to be a Court Club member. The Olive Branch is located at 37 Bartlett Street in New Brunswick.

Any planned watch parties in NYC?

there is a large pregame gathering being planned for Feb 1st near MSG for when RU takes on Michigan that day. I’m sure the bar will remain packed for those who don’t have tickets to the game.

otherwise the NYC alumni club runs game watches for football. I’m not aware of any plans for b-ball watch parties as of yet but I’m sure they would gladly organize it if there was a demand for it

The pre-paid party is at Stout which is HUGE, however. if that sells our early I will put something together nearby.

Anything in NYC? I can't really get to in person games due to my commute and working hours sometimes, so getting to games is tough. I tried finding bars in NYC in relation to the B1G but couldn't find any

see the below response to someone who asked the same regarding NYC game watches:

Where are the hoboken ones?

We have hosted Hoboken watch parties exclusively for football for the last 11+ years. We've had incredible turn out when the team was good (easily 100+ for each game). Unfortunately the last 4 seasons we've had such low turn out that several bars have dropped hosting us because it wasn't worth it to them (and then they'd hang a competitors flag a week later).

... With that said , totally open and excited to host watch parties for basketball only if we were confident we would get at least 15-20 people to turn up. Otherwise the bars get annoyed that we have them decorate, market, turn on game sound, etc. and then nobody comes. Especially for basketball when more of the games are during evening hours.

Our host bar for football in Hoboken (Tally Ho) has been a great partner. Unfortunately they are not open during most weekdays (only open Thurs - Sunday). So if we were to do basketball, we have other bars who had expressed interest in hosting us but we'd need to have a good first impression to make it worth their while and effort.

My plan for this season is to wait until the team (hopefully) gets some momentum and excitement and then pick a well placed game or two to host the game watch parties.

Right now eying up games such as:
Sat Jan 11 at Illinois (if they are ranked and its an afternoon game then this is a definite go)
Sat Feb 1 vs Mich at MSG - we're going to host several pre-game events in the area including a pre-pre game in Hoboken then head over to the RUAA pregame in NYC
and then probably one of the late Feb mid week away games (vs Mich vs PSU vs Wisc)

I'd be interested in any South Jersey/Philadelphia watch parties.
