RU Closing In On Adding 2,000 More Season Tickets For 2015

If that blurb means that Rutgers has already sold more than 2,000 more season tickets than last year, that is definitely great news.

I am somewhat skeptical, however. If season ticket sales were going that well then Rutgers should be shouting this from the rooftops (as it would encourage other folks "on the fence" to hop on the bandwagon).

How many OSU fans picked up seasons this year? These are the ones that have the most to gain from the game in Piscataway this year. Buy for one game and dump the others on Stubhub. Always a thought.

Since most of the article was about special events, the number at the end seemed like an afterthought. But it is promising. Does anyone know if they have announced the % of renewals or the total of season's tix sold for next season yet? Plus, aren't we just now about to enter the period for those who have purchased season's tix to order the mini-packs at a special price? So the numbers will hopefully all combine to show an increase over last year's 30,000 seasons' tix equivalent figure.

But that's the same every year. If it's not OSU fans then it would be Penn State fans or Michigan fans. In terms of business, any additional revenue from opposing B1G fans is a good thing

if the number is a NET increase of 2000 season tickets to the 31,500 we had last year (which included partial plans)....than 33,000 before mini plans going on sale will get us darn close to selling out the place. We only have 38,000 season tickets to sell after students, visitors allotment, and university guest total...

Tickets for the single games will be sold at a really high premium

Slight OT: I asked for a seat upgrade, does anyone know when we'll hear back on what seats we got? All they said was after the April 30th renewal deadline.

It would likely be Nebraska, not OSU if another team were driving up the ticket sales.

I'm sure many will be purchased by Nebraska fans, but lots of RU fans go the mini-plan route instead of full seasons due to other youth sports commitments in the Fall.
I don't know how they do it, but Nebraska overtakes stadiums like no other. If they have less than 10k fans I will be shocked. And that is no knock on Rutgers, they do that wherever they go. The good news is that they will blend right in with the red crowd.
