Former RU sophomore captain Mael Corboz, transferred to the University of Maryland a couple of years ago, just before both teams joined the B1G, so he didn't have to sit a year. He's now a senior and will face off tonight against our guys who are ranked #16 in the country. Maryland hasn't had the best year, winning only 7 with just two wins in the Big Ten.
When he left, he was quoted as saying, "I’m excited to join one of the top soccer programs—if not the top soccer program—in the country,” Mael said. “I spent a great year and a half at Rutgers and learned a lot, but I thought it was the right time to move on and experience something different. Maryland will be a very competitive place where I hope to learn and grow as a player.”
Sometimes the grass doesn't always end up being greener.
