....this time at Northwestern, 4-2, on Friday night. Their 4th victory in a row and their 3rd conference win, compared to just 1 last season (regular season). Hope they can keep it going and claw their way into the NCAA tournament.

Wow, that's a huge win. I've been a vocal critic of Donnigan....and have called for his replacement....but if he can keep the boys playing like this....
I will gladly admit on this board how wrong I was/am.

Great win on the road against a very good Northwestern squad.

I just checked the B1G men's soccer standings and saw that RU is now tied for 1st place with UMd, each having 9 points with two conference games remaining. RU controls its own destiny here, with games left against OSU and the very same Maryland. Maryland is 2-1-3 in conference, while RU is 3-3-0. And RU has a slightly higher overall winning percentage counting the OOC games.

The OSU game is here, on the Sunday after the Saturday night football game against the Buckeyes. The game against UMd is down there, unfortunately.

Another solid win and at top of standings with The Twerps! How about that??!! Haters are awfully quiet recently lol!

Excellent win for the men. They are on a roll. Here's hoping they keep it up & make the NCAA tourney. They really have some guys who can find the back of the goal. And I believe that their chemistry is better this year. Has to be in order to win. After the game Donnigan noted that their D needed to tighten up. In the bit that I've seen them play I noticed that their D doesn't come up & challenge until late, therefore allowing good through balls. Wish they would take a page out of the women's book & challenge all over the field. Would make them that much tougher. Their goalie David Gredzke[sp], whom I have seen over the last couple of yrs., is really good- athletic, quick & tough.

I was very down on Donnigan. Didn't think that he was the guy to get it done. Happy to say he is proving me wrong. Hope he continues to do so.

Ha ha, actually wasn't talking about you Buggsy, the good stuff on your behalf!

BTW - RU, OSU and Maryland, essentially have a "round robin" to end the regular season.

I have to hand it to him. He has them playing their best soccer I think in all his years here.

Would love to see him recruit NJ like Reasso did in the late 80's and early 90's when I was a student. We'll really get it rolling again if that happens.

No reason whatsoever soccer can't be the signature sport at RU like it was 25 years ago.

No reason why we can't be the team to beat each year in the BIG.

BTW - you're not one of the posters I'm speaking about, either, and I'm quite sure most here know which 2 posters I'm talking about. One, I'm 99% sure, is NO fan of RU soccer, but just a pure DD hater - for whatever reason - but both have been "conspicuously" absent since before the season/early in the season. .
