A good friend from my Rutgers era was on WGN-TV News broadcast in Chicago tonight. Doug Meyer is a huge Rutgers football fan backer (he even has a 19th century Rutgers football program) but he hails from Chicago and is also a die hard Cubs fan and general Chicago sports fan. (His hatred of the Mets really does trace back to the 1969 season.) Doug has also been featured in the Rutgers alumni magazine. In addition to his financial services job, he invests in Broadway plays and is an original producer of "The Producers" along with "Hairspray" "Little Shop of Horrors" and others. He's also a great guy.
So tonight, he is sitting in the stands above the Cubs bench and gets a souvenir ball. So he takes it to another known Cubs fan and asks him to sign it. WGN had him on their news tonight along with photo. Way to go Doug! And congrats to the Mets!
