Taking the liberty to post what has been well covered on other boards within the site around the athletics impact because:
1. It will roll off quickly there under the weight of other (many OT) topics
2. There's a lot here beyond athletics
3. This is really a big deal in terms of our relationship with Trenton
$300 million more than past appropriations including money for:
$50 mil downtown NB Research Center "Hub"
$150 mil for Medical schools
This is a huge shift from decades of miserly, actually no, capital investment from the state. Basically all the building on campus from the 1980s until the Christie Christie Higher Ed bond was funded by university (meaning student) debt. And Christie's $300 mil bond was just a subsidized loan we still need to pay off.
This is direct money from the State. A huge difference.
