1st game I've had an opportunity to watch this year. Our pitching is beyond awful. I made it 2 innings i cannot watch that mess any longer
Our relief pitchers are handing this game to Nebraska. What a disgrace. We have walked nine batters and hit four. It is hard to comprehend that division one college pitchers cannot throw a strike. This is what happens in little league but this is a complete meltdown after we led 6-3 in the 7th inning. So frustrating.
The bullpen did that all year long. Why should the tourney be any different. Ironically, the overall team ERA was second in the conference behind only Iowa.
Very poorly handled by Owens . I mentioned several days ago that Nebraska was a HOME game and as you witnessed it actually was however you can’t call what we saw today a “ bullpen” issue. Literally cost us today and maybe 6 other games this season at a minimum . Who were our relief pitchers today? Still

I won’t criticize either player as it does happen but definitely going forward next season Steve Owens needs a middle relief guy and a real closer. It doesn’t matter this season . But I would like to win the next game… then the next game … then the next game and yes the next game. We can but nobody at this juncture is a starter or reliever.
Here's an "odd" ? question I'm sure. Why do we continue to wear Black Uniforms? For the 13 years I coached I would never let an opposing pitcher wear a white hat. Isn't it easier for the batters to pick up the baseball coming from them in black unis? Is that an over -simplification in today's game?
Thanks Two. But in baseball it's a visual disadvantage.. as a batter it sets up a very focused pitch zone I would think. (sorry guys. I think I'm a strategic thinker and don't know if it really matters but I would take every advantage and eliminate every potential disadvantage).
Well we couldn’t wear Red uni‘s … or white … Nebby ‘s colors also. Nebby is the HOME team literally and figuratively. Welcome the boys home tomorrrow night and hope we find the answer. We will always hit… sometimes pitching stats can be skewed. We still are not there.
Despite the pitching disaster in the 7th and the earlier unfortunate officiating reversal, RU had every opportunity to bust this game open. They simply failed to get hits with RISP and Brito’s inning ending DP with the bases loaded was a crusher. It was an all around team failure. Better luck today. Survive and advance.
Finally Nebraska loses a challenge in tonight's game vs. Michigan State. They were batting a thousand until now...
