Rutgers checking out 2019 5 star Charles Bassey

It's okay to dream for a minute or two, right? Like actually enjoy the hard work?
Just messing. This staff is great. I like to see the humor in the posts that say (insert school x) is checking out so and so.”

I don't know when the stars ratings started, but I wonder how many stars players like Lloyd,Sellers,Jordan,Anderson,Bailey,Copeland,Battle,Vinson would have received.

Here is how I saw it/remember it with some old magazines as guides ...I wondered this myself years back so I did some research

Sellers was a bonfide top five national recruit and a 5 Star

Dabney was a bonfide 4 Star and probably would have been a National 40-60 ranked player. He was the star of the class, until Phil came late

Jordan was a total under the radar recruit....

Copeland was a lower end 4 star recruit and probably a 80-100 national player..

Anderson would have been a high 3 star recruit out of Belleville ...too 125 type kid

Bailey was also very under the radar recruit

It's been said before, whoever is the star or stars of the next RU team to make the NCAA tourney will instantly become legendary.
It could be Corey (5-10% chance we could make it next year). It could be Gio. It could be Bassey?

when we look back on the program, I think Geo will be held in the same regard as Brian Leonard in football

I’m checking out Christie Brinkley tomorrow. We’ll see how it goes
You're probably better looking than Billy Joel so my money's on you here. Don't let me down.

But does he have Billy Joel $$$? I’m betting that’s as much a factor as looks, if not more so. Good luck!

As far as our chances recruiting five-star players goes, my thought is Pike is in a good position now where he can sell these types of players as being the guy who puts us over the top their first year on campus. Pike’s already lined up the complimentary talent to put us in bubble contention (we think). Now he needs that one special player who can turn us into a serious contender. Maybe this is the kid who buys into that scenario. We only need one.

Sellers and Dabney were among the very best players in the country when they were being recruited. It is a tribute to Dick Vitale that Rutgers was able to reel them in. Unfortunately Young and Vitale were not able to capitalize on this success to build a power program that would be sustained.

The reason for not being able to build off the 76 season was Young hated -and didn’t - recruit
