Rutgers commit Ace Bailey, top target Dylan Harper to play against Overtime Elite semi-pro teams

OTE Games were on Prime last season
I'm amazed HS teams can play games now, players get their trips/expenses paid for etc.
Seems like just a matter of time until most of the top 25-50 HS class is OTE or GLeague Ignite

I think the top players are going to make more money by going to college.

I think the second tier will make more money by going to college

The top guys will want to get drafted and fewer and fewer college players will be getting drafted
Maybe 25-50 is too big of a group, but maybe that's how many THINK they have a shot at getting drafted

Maybe, but they are much more likely to become better basketball players when it is all they focus on, and they work with coaches who are exclusively training them to play in the NBA, rather than all the offensive and defensive systems college coaches use that are irrelevant to the NBA game.

So why do you think Ace isn’t going that route right now?

You would have to ask him, but obviously family relationships played a role. He is already projected to be a top 3 pick in 2025, so maybe he just isn’t concerned about it. Several OTE and G league Ignite players were drafted in the top 10 this year, and they all outperformed their high school rankings. Scoot Henderson is getting a lot of press right now as the most NBA ready player in the draft.

Article says Club Teams. So it might not be the HS roster. It might be a mix of a high school roster & a couple guys from an AAU team added to the roster.

The tier below the elite, maybe. If the top players actually want to be prepared for the NBA, college is not the place. Most of the best players in the NBA have played little or no college basketball.

This is so true.
