That's a lot of losing. Even if we give the team one lucky victory that could have them (including a Big 10 tourney loss) 40 of its last 47...WOW!

Now Keith Sargeant seems to indicate that Jordan either has to be renewed or he wont be retained as it would be impossible to recruit knowing there is no extension. Now Uncle Bob renewed Bannon, Waters and Hill after 3 years. I do not think TP did the same with Rice but I guess he never got the chance to.

Does anyone know if its written in any contracts that you have to make a decision. I do recall that with Hill that there was something that required action but I could be wrong.

He is not getting an extension. He may be back but that will just delay the inevitable. I watched the Knicks and Nova instead tonight.

RU will be lucky to win 1 B1G game this season. The games against Nebraska and Minnesota would probably be the team's best chance. But, I can't see RU favored against either team even at home.

No extension. Hobbs needs to end the Craig Littlepage----er, I mean Eddie Jordan era after this season ends. I don't care that we're hobbled (no pun in there) by a spate of injuries. EJ is NOT a college coach. He was a questionable NBA coach and like in football where a coordinator is good at what he does, but when given a HC job he fail. EJ IMO, is the same. Maybe he's good at certain facets of the game, but as a HC, he has shown he is incapable of leading a team especially when it comes to basic fundamentals.

I would doubt whether Jordan would even want an extension at this point. He's 61 and he doesn't seem to have the makeup or energy necessary for a re-build. An extension just prolongs the inevitable.

Doubt Jordan will be offered an extension unless the buyout is 1 year's salary.
Eddie is on his third year of a 5 year contract and Hobbs will give him next season
to prove himself or have the last year bought out.

Eddie ( or any HC) probably needs the 7 years Hurley wanted to improve RU MBB from being a bad program . But in year 3 Jordan don't seem to be heading the program in the right direction and I doubt he'll make it through his full contract unless far more improvement is shown in year 4 than it has up to now and probable at the end of this season.

I believe what will bring Jordan back next year is the cost of paying off his last two years, the money being spent on the football program, the payoffs to Flood and Hermann as well as cutting the stipend that is going into the Athletic Department.
Unless the finances can be found to pay off Jordan and hire a quality replacement , I doubt Hobbs will be replacing Jordan until after next season.

madhat....if you are jordan you don't even bother recruiting knowing that you are dead man walking.......and that is the dilemna
When I read the article that made it look like Jordan isn't recruiting hard enough to make the program better in the future , I stopped defending him and ended asking others to give him the time needed to prove he could make RU better.
Without recruits that's impossible and he hasn't shown he can get it done by his coaching skills.
I just feel he'll be back because of financial reasons and if next season is another non tourney one (NIT included) he's gone

Hobbs is faced with a terribly difficult decision here, and I fear due to the finances that next year Eddie will playing out the string as a dead man walking. I can't see him even bothering to recruit (if he hasn't already given up).

haha you don't believe what you are saying

I don't believe what I'm saying ? How would you know that ? lol

Hobbs has been through MBB coaching changes before at SHU. He has more to sell at RU to the next HC than when he hired Kevin Willard at shoe.

I'll roll the dice on a coaching change after this season with Hobbs pulling the trigger and feel that RU MBB will end up in a better place than if we extend Eddie.

It always comes back to financial burdens that deters progress for the mens basketball program.
