Rutgers is Planning to Reopen in September 2021

I think at least some other institutions will require vaccination unless a high enough percentage gets vaccinated to produce herd immunity (70-85%, according to Dr. Fauci). I think that Rutgers is being too dainty in handling this matter.

More than likely the prospective Rutgers student has many options.

Maybe by not making it mandatory, like you suggest some other schools might, it keeps Rutgers in the mix more for the person looking at schools. A “mandatory” could make people look elsewhere.

Especially when you read the words of the Rutgers official talk about a timetable of returning to normal...’22 or ‘23.

Anybody who chooses not to be vaccinated (I'm not talking about those who can't get an appointment) doesn't deserve to go to Rutgers. I'd be happy to have them go elsewhere.
