Here is a look at what the visiting prospects had to say today about their trip to Rutgers.
2019 RB Tyquan Brown (Freedom – Va.)
“I was surprised to get the offer. I just went there to see the campus and experience the junior day. I got the offer from Coach Ash. I met with him before we did everything and then after the junior day, the running back coach told me that he wanted to meet me again when the junior day was over and that’s when he gave me the offer. Rutgers and Maryland are neck and neck now.”
2019 S Thomas Joe-Kamara (South Brunswick, N.J)
"What stood out to me is they care they have for the players academics wise. They make sure each player has the support needed to succeed and they make sure their players have everything they need to be where they want to be in the future.”
2019 DT Malachi Burby (Cheshire Academy, Conn.)
“The facilities, the academics, everything was great. The support you get academically blew my mind. Everyone has your best interest and they really want you to succeed which stood out for me and my family.”
2019 ATH Jordan White (West Orange, N.J.)
I really enjoyed it. I felt a lot of love from the coaching staff. They stressed a lot how they are just a brotherhood instead of just a team. The weight room also stood out to me. The strength and conditioning program seems intense. And they are building a facility so it should be amazing and exciting to see."
(In regards to meeting Coach Joseph) I like him a lot. Even though he's new and we just met today we have already built a great relationship.
(In regards to an offer)They said soon. They want me to build a good relationship with Coach Joseph
2019 OL Jake Harkey (Lakeland, N.J.)
"Some things that stood out to mr was their strength and lifting program and how serious it is. It was very impressive. Another thing that stood out was how caring they are when it comes to academics. They really want all athletes from the team to succeed and that stood out today."
2019 LB Peter Nazario (Central, N.J.)
“The energy from the coaches was probably the biggest thing that stood out to me because sometimes you’ll go to the junior days and the coaches are very monotone but at Rutgers today the coaches were all making sure we were having fun and joking around with us and keeping the tempo up. Coach Omar [Hales] and Coach [Adam] Caltury made me really feel at home today, And speaking with Coach [Chris] Ash and Coach [Noah] Joseph was great too. Coach Nunzio [Campanile] is also a guy who I’ve known since his time at Bergen and I got to speak with him today too and it’s nice to have him there at Rutgers.”
2019 ATH John Guiamano (Cedar Grove - N.J.)
"The trip was great. I really enjoyed it and it was my first time getting down to Rutgers to see everything. I think the best part was see how the coaches really care about the future of the players and they know it’s not just about football. They know that life after football is important. The facilities were amazing and I enjoyed talking to coach Hales and Campanile and coach Camp is planning on visiting me in the spring and getting me to a spring practice."
'20 QB Rashaan Carlton (Harrisburg, Pa.)
"The trip today was good I liked the facilities and I spoke to the coach for our area and he said he liked what hes seen because he’s visited the school before and he said there going to come and watch me in the spring."
2019 LB Mohamed Toure (Pleasantville, N.J.)
“Coach Ash offered me. He said he loved the way I play, he loved my family. I wasn’t expecting the offers to come this early. It feels good to get these early offers but I can never relax. I have to keep working. I just have to keep getting better and better.”
2019 OL Christian Mahogany (Paramus Catholic, N.J.)
"It was a fun and entertaining visit. To learn about life after football was huge for me and it showed a lot on their part."
2020 OT Anton Harrison (Carroll, Md.)
"Junior day was great. I learned lots of things in Rutgers I didn’t know. Getting the offer made the day even better because thinking out of all these people, I’m a select few so it pushes me to keep pushing on the gas and don’t let up."
2019 OT Adam Elgammal (Christ The King, NYC)
"Today was an amazing visit to the Scarlet Knights, very informative. The coaching staff was fantastic. The facilities are top notch. I can only imagine what it will look like when they complete the renovations. I also love the academic component very much."
2019 LS Evan Davis (Rumson Fair Haven, NJ)
"It was great. When I was there for two unofficial visits in the fall, they were for games. So I didn’t really see any thing besides the recruit lodge (very nice and great hospitality). Also, their coaches are amazing, and after seeing all the facilities today, it’s best I’ve seen from any program. They know how to take care of their players."
Davis said he spent time with Okruch, Nienas and new QC coach Drew Lascari
2020 OT Devin Willock (New Milford, NJ)

2019 ATH Jacari Carter (Sayreville, NJ)
"It went well. They had a lot of new coaches on staff. I already have a good connection with coach Robinson and coach campanile was recruiting me when I was in 8th grade but I spoke to the safeties coach from Indiana (Joseph) and made a good start with him. They said they’re looking forward to getting me up for spring practice. Joseph was cool. He was very approachable. He’s interested in getting to know jersey guys and looking for talent no matter the size."

"It went well I liked a lot of what I saw. I was with Coach Blazek a lot & a little bit with Coach Omar we talked a bit. I saw the team workout & they showed me their trainers room & the stadium. He asked me to come back for spring practice and wants to get to see me throw during one of the camps in the summer. Hopefully if I throw well he will offer. I loved the facilities. Everything was brand new or getting renovated in the next couple years. They're fixing the training room and building a student athlete center I believe.”
