The big from 7-14 does not seem extremely strong to me. It's still good, but it will be competitive from 7-14 spots.

This. I actually think a lot of top players graduated last year across the whole conference and it will be a down year overall. More opportunity for us despite the roster turnover.

This is a great day. I am already glued to the BTN and watching Jim Delany speak with the coaches to follow soon.

Wish Pike had been asked a couple more questions. Love to hear what he has to say.

The Big Ten is better and deeper than a year ago. There is ZERO chance the league only send four teams to the NCAA again. Zero. In my opinion last season was the "down year" for the league. Schools like Indiana, Maryland and Wisconsin aren't often mediocre/bad in the same season. Time will tell.

Only at RU would there be so much excitement and anticipation for the season when we are picked, yet again, to finish last.

There is similar excitement at South Florida and they will be picked to finish last in their conference

I respect Carino’s opinion, but I say we finish 10th this year.

Simply, it tells you just how down in the dumps the program has been for more than a decade. We haven't had a winning season since 2005-2006. Pikiell has given fans something we haven't had in a long time.... hope.

Man, watching Geo and Gene in that BTN interview, you just can't help but see what great young men they are, and great ambassadors for the university. This team will be SOOOOO easy to root for.

I loved Revsine's comment that he was surprised by the passion and energy the RU fans brought to the Garden last season. The average B1G fan certainly cannot appreciate the passion that Rutgers can bring to sports -- since, to them, we're just "Rutgers" -- but Revsine is a guy who is more tapped in to the sports scene at Rutgers (through his hosting duties at BTN), and even HE was taken aback by the fan support we got at the Garden.

From our experience with football in 2004-2006, there's nothing better than that first time we arrive on the scene and shock people. Hopefully that's coming soon for RHoops.

Time will tell! I am always excited to get to ge RAC and do my part. Liftoff in what- a month?

Totally agree. I wish the B1G tourney was at the garden more often. I remember looking around at the crowd when the Purdue game was in its last few minutes with the crowd on its feet (both Purdue and RU fans) and just buzzing. Such a great atmosphere...I have faith in Pike to get it done

People don't remember the Michigan game for NIT final. Great atmosphere.

Good point... even the Iowa State game in the semis was great (I was at both). I remember the train ride to and from New Brunswick and lines at the ticket machines with RU fans. Bruce Johnson walked into the train car I was sitting in and people were asking him to give the 'happy recap'. Once the team shows early signs of success, the RAC will be full each night with RU fans eager to cheer on their team.

ditto for me as well, Quincy and Herve....seems like forever need to make the RAC jump again. We will know when the other B1G coaches start talking about going on the road to Rutgers, Izzo hinted at it last year.
