Rutgers Mens TF & Rutgers Women TF Big Ten Outdoor Championships Preview And Results

It will be interesting to see the results. I have been following the Big Ten performance list this spring. Right now Rutgers has the leader in 4 events.
Defending 400 meter champion Izaiah Brown has the best time this spring but only by .01 seconds. He should be favored but may face his toughest test after 3 Big Ten championships (2 indoor, 1 outdoor) He has not run many open 400 meters this spring Can he better the 45.27 he ran last year.
Jermaine Griffith who made AA has not run any races so far this spring. I don't know if he is hurt or is redshirting to run as a 5th year next spring.
It is possible this is the only running event that Rutgers could score in though the 4x400 relay may squeeze in a point or two.
Chris Mirabelli is the defending Big Ten champion in the Javelin and has the best distance in the Big Ten this spring though by a narrow margin. He broke the school record twice in his past two competitions.
5th year senior Thomas Carr has the third best distance in the Javelin but it does not look like he has a result since March. His best result was in the first outdoor meet in March
Emeka Eze has the best results this spring in both the LJ and the TJ setting the school record in the TJ twice. He may need a similiar result to win this weekend6'.
In the LJ, Eze won two years ago and redshirted last year. He had one great jump in the Mets winning a leap only 6 inches short of Corey Crawford's school record.
He followed that by fouling all 3 jumps in the Penn Relays the following week. He will probably need a leap of 25 feet + to win.
Tobi Tella in the LJ and TJ and Paul Jairus have outside chances of scoring if they can match or exceed season best results.
Frosh Perry Christie has an outside shot of scoring in the HJ but may need to beat his PB of 6'9.75 to do so.

Great start ... Brown is not competing in the 400, but chance to win one of the jumps ...
