Rutgers offers 2018 forward from Florida

Good to see staff is very actively recruiting though not sure how much of a chance we have here. Time better spent hitting recruiting road as opposed to game planning for meaningless CBI tourney games. Maybe Russ can share his thoughts of a RU fit for this kid.

Four star recruit 6'6" or 6'7". 247 Crystal Ball has him 100% Florida. Maybe if he goes Florida it will help us with Isaiah Mucius some. Believe both play same position. Would like to have either one of them.

Days is a 6-foot-6 power forward who is skilled. He's not an explosive athlete but he can dunk.

Since last Spring he has been working on his jump shot. He's pretty reliable from 12 feet, but he needs to get better 12-20 feet.

Good kid, coachable has leadership qualities.

Florida has not offered. I do know that they like him as does Tennessee and Wake Forest.

Days loves Florida so if they ever do offer his recruitment would likely end.

I would much prefer recruiting taller than smaller players at every position that have similar skillset.Size does matter in the B1G .

I'd rather recruit coachable athletes with skills & leadership ability than check a box with an inch or two. Size matters everywhere and this kid has legit offers from B1G, ACC, PAC12. It seems hard to believe a kid can be that lean and a comment "he can dunk" needs to be said. Jonathan Mitchell popped in my head, but he was a solid 225.

In my opinion, RU will be built on competition & bringing in 50-150 type recruits and seeing who will grow/ outwork the rest of them. Top 50 or grad-transfers can't be focus- they need to be considered cherry on top if/when they do happen, which they always do when the program shows signs of real potential.

@bowlgoal After I finish with the NCAA Tournament in Orlando I'll be reaching out to several Florida HS prospects. I'll ask Days what his current weight is, but if I had to guess I'd say he's around 195 now. Yes, 6-foot-6 is a small power forward but that is the position he plays in HS. He's working on expanding his game so that he could slide into the small forward spot. He has improved his jump shot over the past 10 months.

@rubaseball78 I really like Days. The reason I commented that he is 'not an explosive athlete but he can dunk' was simply to provide as much detail in a brief eval of the kid. Over the years it has been my experience that when I tell people a player is not an explosive athlete the first thing they ask me is "can he dunk?". So I was just trying to answer a potential question before it was even asked.

I spoke to Days today and he told me his current height and weight. You can get that info here

He also said that Virginia, Virginia Tech, Rutgers and Kansas are the schools most consistently in touch with him lately. Kansas has not offered. He also said that Kentucky called his HS coach.

Btw, back in September, Days was one of the five best players at the Nike Team Florida event known as TheWorkout. Here's his highlights from that day

Thanks, Russ -great info as usual. He looks very solid and every bit of 215+ which is fine if he's got a good motor..

He also told me that he is doing better in school and will take the ACT and SAT in the next few months
